BCM School Chandigarh Road Ludhiana organised Shabad Gyan competition on the occasion of 552nd Birth Anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev Ji. Total 26 students from classes VI to VIII were selected for the final round which was conducted in the school activity hall. The competition started after acquainting the audience with the life of Guru Nanak Dev Ji. All participants rendered shabads based on ragas as set in Sri Guru Granth Sahib. Peace, devotion and serenity filled the environment during the Shabad- Gayan. Result for the same is as follows:

SHABAD GAYAN COMPETITION II MIDDLE WING II
As part of the celebration of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav (AKAM), CBSE announces the second Expression Series for the session 2021-22. Students made posters on the theme ‘People who gave us the 75th year of India’s Independence’. Later on entry of Udhriti Kundu of Class VII-J was selected and sent to CBSE for the next round of Competition. She also got the participation certificate for the same.

The National Mission for Clean Ganga (NMCG), Ministry of Jal Shakti organised ‘Ganga Utsav’ with an aim to establish a strong public–river connect specially with Ganga and its ecology. Keeping this in mind, A slogan writing Activity was conducted. Students wrote slogans to sensitize the need of clean rivers. A report for the same was sent to CBSE.

To create the festive ambience in school premises, a plethora of activities was organized for the students of classes I to V. The activities were organized as under.
Class I – II : - Recitation of Chopayeeans from Ramanya
Class III: - Toran Making
Class IV – V Rangoli Making of A4 size sheets
Children participated in all the activities enthusiastically. Vibrant colours of Rangoli emerged as expression of joy and happiness. Students also took the pledge to celebrate Diwali with candles, sweets and non-polluting green crackers.

Vigilance Awareness Week is celebrated every year to encourage the fight against corruption. As per the guidelines of CBSE, A pledge was administered and students were also made aware about the ill effects of corruption in our society in the morning assembly so that ethical values are ingrained permanently in the minds of the younger generation.

On the occassion of Rashtriya Ekta Divas (31st October, 2015), Hon’ble Prime Minister of India presented the idea of a sustained and structured cultural connect between people of different regions. Towards achieving this, every State and UT in the country has been paired with another State and UT. Punjab is paired with Andhra Pradesh and As per CBSE circular no. 83, Weave a Way activity was conducted in class VI. Social Studies teachers help the students to learn Telugu language. Students wrote basic sentences in Punjabi and telugu. Later on they were made to speak and learn those sentences in the language of paired state.

As a part of Swadesh Manthan Project started by our school, A display board decoration was organised in the middle wing. All the sections decorated their boards as per the state allotted. The classes whose boards stood out from the rest and made best boards are Vi G, VII F, VII I and VIII F.

World Food Day is celebrated every year in order to raise awareness about hunger, malnutrition, sustainability and food production. Students of middle wing presented one act play on the topic malnutrition and caring for the needy. They also participated in speech competition in which they talked about ill effects of junk food.

The enthusiasm of the students of middle wing was revealed in their celebration of Dr. Kalam’s birthday. They wrote his biography describing not only his life history but also his achievements and ideals in the betterment of Nation. They also recited famous poem written by him.

It was an endeavour to acknowledge and award students for their continuing saga of glorious achievements in the School Examinations for the academic year session 2019-20. It was the time to applaud and reward the students for their sincere efforts. The school felicitated all its achievers for having attained a sterling record in scholastic domain. The ceremony was conducted during Live Morning Assembly. All the students and teachers present in school, students and parents at home joined this Live Assembly to appreciate these achievers.

On 30th August 2021 online choreography on Lord Krishna was organised by the students of senior wing of BCM School in which students sent videos of dancing on the bhajans of Lord Krishna, singing bhajans, performing a play with the family members .Students shared pics of scene created at their home of Krishna Leela. NATIONAL SPORTS DAY
Through participation in sports and games a child gains various skills, experience and confidence which are required for his all-round development. An online Sports Day was celebrated by BCMites of Senior wing .In which students delivered speech on different topics like Importance of sports in one's life .Students shared information on different competitions held by CBSE on district ,state and national level ,Contribution of BCM in the fields of sports and in Olympics 2020. All these activities were compiled in one video which was shared with the students of senior wing.

India’s festivals reflect the country’s rich cultural abundance. Breaking the humdrum of daily routine, these festivals bring with them a wave of excitement, happiness and hope even in the most difficult times. On the auspicious occasion of Raksha Bandhan, few activities were conducted virtually to make students understand the true essence of this festival and the sacred relation of a brother and a sister. Students of grade V recited heart touching poems during online class whereas grade IV prepared appealing e- collages of the precious moments with their siblings . Not only this, tiny tots of grade I-III also prepared beautiful greeting cards and rakhi’s for their siblings. Children participated in all activities enthusiastically.

Simarpreet Kaur of VIII G, Sukhleen Kaur of VIII A and Manmeet Kaur of VIII C made board on Democratic Values vs India 2021 under category B. They bagged Third Position.

A session was organised for the students of class VI ON "Disaster management wherein they were given the understanding of the core of the natural and manmade disasters. They were also given valuable information about the preparedness with which such situations could be handled. They were also given information about first aid kit and the ways to use it wisely and in a correct manner.

From 2nd August to 10th August 2021 students of BCM secondary wing celebrated Literacy Week under the guidance of Ms Shelly Rawla (Computer Instructor) . The motive behind this celebration is to make the students move hand in hand with technology. Students prepared beautiful videos on ' I Love My School ' in which they gave information about their school's area , greenery, rainwater harvesting projects, infrastructure etc .There were competitions on Digital Pamphlet Design , Brochure Making ,Logo Design and Animated Videos. Students participated whole heartedly in the competition.

Rhythm of class V J brought laurels to school by bagging 1st position in LSSC Hindi Poetry Recitation Competition 2021-22 conducted by Jesus' Sacred Heart School, Ludhiana. Theme of her poem was "Acid Attack Survivor - Lakshmi". She mesmerized the judges with her powerful performance and emerged as winner among 35 participants of different schools of the city.

Keeping in tune with the Independence Day fervor , students of Primary wing participated in various competitions with full zeal and enthusiasm. Literary Club conducted Inter class Poetry Recitation Competition for the students of class I - II. All the little patriots recited the poems with exemplary zeal and zest. Dramatic Club Organized Inter Class Role Play on theme - Freedom Fighters for Class III-IV. Students were filled with patriotic fervor. They paid tribute to various freedom fighters by enacting like them. It was overwhelming to see them dressed up as Rani Lakshmi Bai, Bhagat Singh, Chandra Shekhar Azad, Subhash Chandra Bose and many more.

To kindle poetic flair among students, an online Inter House Poem Recitation Competition was organised on August 14,2021. The theme of the competition was Patriotism. Beas House emerged as overall winner. Harithi of Beas House bagged Ist position in English category whereas Parneet of Ravi House and Aryan Jain of Sutlej House stood second. The third position was bagged by Khanak of Ravi House. In Hindi category Jeevanshi and Vivedita of Beas House bagged 1st and 2nd positions respectively. Japneet Kaur of Ravi House stood 3rd. The competition provided an opportunity to the students to exhibit the best of their talents and confidence.

The students who stood first are Bhakti of Class Vi D, Harshit Monga of class VII E and Manrajpreet kaur of class VIII C.

A session on Adolescents issues was organised for the students of class VII wherein the students were given the information about how stress impacts one's mental as well as physical health and how it depreciates one's ability to lead life in a more holistic manner. They were also given tips for dealing with stress. A visualized imagery session was also conducted in order to help the students practice mindfulness as a technique to deal with stress.

BCMites celebrated Teej
To divert the attention of parents and students from this pandemic and to add fun , joy and celebration in their lives. Secondary wing of BCM celebrated 'Teej 'on 11th August 2021.
Students sent their videos of singing and dancing in Punjabi attires to the concerned teachers , which were uploaded on the school website. Students participated in different activities like 'Boliyan' 'Speech on the importance of Teej ' , 'Turban tying activity' and 'Braid making activity'.
Overall it was a wonderful activity which filled every heart and soul of BCM with colours and celebration.

On 28 July 2021, that is, World Nature Conservation Day secondary wing of BCM school organized some online activities under the guidance of Ms.Ankita Mentor of Eco club & Mr. Abhishek Mentor of Theatre Club in which students showcased their calibre by participating in activities like speech delivering , mono acting, story and article writing .More than 80 students participated by sending their videos to the concerned teachers.
A final video was compiled which was shared with students. It was uploaded on school's FB page.

Every year July 26 is celebrated as Kargil Vijay Diwas to remember the success of operation Vijay in the year 1999 Kargil War. It is a moment of great pride for every citizen of the country. In order to pay tribute to India’s Armed Forces and to salute their indomitable courage and valour, few activities were performed by the students.
