Students presented diversed dance form of India like Garba, Bharatnatayam, BHANGRA and even western dance also. They also presented MIME , SKIT WITH SONG, SPEECH, POEM , STAND UP COMEDY AND QAWWALI in which students flaunted and their talent created a good ambience for audiences. Even one parent has expressed her views on the topic that was showing the interest of the parents with assembly and its topic. Parents and concerned authorities appreciated the efforts of the students.

World Hand Hygiene Day is a global event, intends to unite people to increase awareness about Hand Hygiene. An awareness session on Hand Hygiene was organized for the students of class VI. The Resource Person Dr Benika Kajla, Microbiologist Consultant at Fortis Hospital, explained the importance and correct ways of washing hands during the workshop. Students were also explained how bacteria spreads through different sense organs. The workshop aimed at making children aware about different ways of washing hands and the importance of using soap or hand wash. A practical demo was also given by Dr Kajla’s team for a better understanding of washing hands properly to children. Later on, the organizer of the event Mr. Sanjay Ojha, General Manager Ferro India Pvt. Ltd. cleared the queries related to usage of soap and sanitizers.

On the occasion of Labour Day, the students of Class X A conducted a week-long celebration, which included a special assembly. The assembly was filled with various performances, such as choreography, mime, poems, speeches, and greeting cards for the labourers of the school.
The students put in a lot of effort and hard work to make the assembly a success. They wanted to showcase their appreciation for the labourers who work tirelessly to keep the school running smoothly.
The performances were not only entertaining but also had a deeper message. The speeches and poems emphasized the importance of treating labourers with respect and dignity. The students also learned the importance of speaking politely and behaving generously towards the labourers.
Parents were highly appreciative of the efforts put in by the students and the teachers. They felt that such activities helped inculcate the values of empathy and respect in their children. An inter-class display board decoration competition was held at the School. The competition saw enthusiastic participation from students of different classes who created visually stunning and informative displays on a variety of topics ranging from environmental conservation to historical events. The judges were impressed by the creativity and efforts put in by the students and found it difficult to choose the winners. The competition was a great success, fostering a sense of healthy competition among the students while also encouraging them to learn and explore new concepts.

INTER HOUSE VOLLEYBALL TOURNAMENT
Volleyball, one of the most exciting outdoor games, had kept the energetic volleyball enthusiasts of BCM, sector 32 A waiting for a very long time. The Inter house volleyball tournament for class XII students started on April 26, 2023 with the inspiring words of the principal Mr. DP Guleria. The first day, four league matches were played out of which the Yamuna house emerged as the first finalist. On 28 April, the second day began with a decisive match between the Satluj house and the Ravi house to get the second finalist. The final match started with the formal introduction of both teams’ players to the Principal who boosted the morale of all the finalists and wished them luck. The players of both the houses performed their best to bag victory. Their conviction to give their best numerous smashes and serves, sneaky drops and fearless blocking and rotation patterns left the audience dumb – stricken. At the end, the Yamuna house emerged as the winner. All the team members of the winning house were awarded medals and a trophy was presented to them by the Principal and other dignitaries. The tournament ended with a beautiful bhangra performance by students of class XII.

Meeting of students of BEAS House was conducted today to discuss and plan various house-related activities and events. House In-charge and House teachers were also introduced to the students .House captains extensively stressed about the need for more participation of students from their respective houses.This infused a renewed house spirit as they vowed to work upon their weaknesses, build upon their strengths, work in cohesion and take their houses to greater heights. Special Morning Assembly on World Malaria Day
Orientation Sessions, in the starting of new session, help the students to get to know about the rules and regulations of the school and also help the students to adjust in new environment. School Counsellor Mr. Sagar Khandelwal conducted orientation session of Class VI students. He acquainted them with the rules and regulations of school and made them understand that change is an integral part of life. They should be ready to cope up with the changes that would occur in their life. He also made them aware about the house system and the house mentors of middle wing.

Literary Week is an exciting annual feature on our school calendar. It aims at infusing in the children across the classes, an appreciation, understanding and love for literature. Literary Week was observed with much aplomb in its various genres from 17 to 24 April 2023. A week-long celebration of literary week was organized in the remembrance of great poet and author William Shakespeare on his birth anniversary on April 23. The whole week was denoted to improve the literary skills of students in all the classes. A plethora of activities was organized by literary club in order to provide a great opportunity to students to showcase their talent in various skills of reading, writing, speaking, listening. Students participated in an array of activities like Reading Challenge, Oration of Favourite Story, Word Chain, Dictionary Navigation, Vocabulary Tools, DEAR activity, Spell Check, Book Cover Making, Acrostic Poem Writing, Extempore, Biography writing , Slogan Writing etc. Students were made aware about the life history of the bard of Avon, William Shakespeare. A video show on the famous drama of William Shakespeare “The Merchant of Venice” was arranged for the students. The week-long literature carnival thus came to a successful end. It was a week filled with flurry and excitement.
Literary Week
Every year, Earth Day is celebrated at BCM School, Chd. Road to remind the students of their duties towards ‘Mother Nature.’ As a part of environmental education, "Go- Green" initiative was taken to engage the whole school community in making a difference. A plethora of educational and action-oriented activities were organized by Eco Club through which students conveyed the message of “Save Earth, Save Lives”. The school campus buzzed with different activities like Poem Recitation, Poster Making, Model Making, Making of Herbarium sheets, Transforming Trash into Treasure, Video Presentation and Bird Feeder Making. In an Inter House Poster Making Competition for the students of class IV and V students prepared thought provoking posters showcasing Environmental challenges. Students of class I to III recited beautiful poems and expressed their concern for our ailing planet. An awareness session on Reduce, Reuse and Recycle was organized for the students of class VIII. All the students participated in these activities with full exuberance.
Earth Day Celebration
With the vision to foster a passion and aptitude for science and technology and to provide a unique platform to Innovative and creative Innovators, the Innovation Club at BCM school, Chandigarh Road, Ludhiana organized the inaugural activity of Power point presentation for the students of grade IX & X on the theme The Future world and My innovative idea on April 21, 2023. The Innovation Club aimed to promote a culture of innovation and a conducive environment for generation of ideas.
The opening video gave an insight into how an ideal platform helps individuals to develop nimble thinking so they could identify problems and find solutions that create value. The students led the entire event from planning to execution.
The participants presented their ideas with great enthusiasm and creativity. The topics covered a wide range of areas such as renewable energy sources, health and wellness, education, and transportation.
Innovation Club is set up to provide students a platform to think out of the box. The hands-on activities in club promote innovation, creativity and engagement.
Mr. D. P Guleria applauded the teachers for their endeavour of igniting intellectual inquiry in the students. He asserted that through Innovation Club, school aims to revolutionize the conventional paradigm of learning into a modern and futuristic layout by providing an intriguing reality-learning environment to the student to learn and engage.

INNOVATION CLUB ACTIVITY
Self-introduction activity for the students of class IX was held successfully in our school. The objective of this activity was to help the students introduce themselves to their classmates and teachers in a fun and interactive way.
The students participated enthusiastically in this activity and shared interesting information about themselves such as their hobbies, interests, and achievements. This activity helped them gain confidence and encouraged them to express themselves freely.
The activity provided a platform for the students to get to know each other better and foster a sense of camaraderie among them.
SELF INTRODUCTION
BCMites celebrated World Heritage Day with great splendor. Tiny tots of KG prepared placards & collages of Seven Wonders of the World. Students of classes 1 to 10 shared facts related to heritage sites and also decorated their display boards on different states of India showing its rich culture and heritage. They were also made aware about the rich heritage of India through Power point & video presentation. Special speech on the topic was delivered by the students of Classes VI to VIII.

Strengthening the initiative of Swadesh Manthan, class V A showcased the vibrant culture of Rajasthan in the form of different dance forms and folk songs of the state. Students presented a choreography also to present the hues of the state. All the students participated enthusiastically.

XII ASPIRANTS RECEIVE A WARM SEND OFF
Food is one of the 5 key factors of Mission Prakriti. An awareness session was organized for the students of class VIII to make the students aware on how to prevent food wastage. A lot of people find it difficult to earn even their 2 meals a day. On the other hand, a large quantity of food is wasted during festivals & wedding season. Volunteers of Hunger Aid India made the children aware about their NGO how they provide food to the needy people. They also cleared students’ queries regarding collection of food from different resources who contact them in case of need. They motivated children not to waste food and also to contact them in case if they come up with such situations.

To mark the birth anniversary of Dr Ambedkar, Students of class VIII participated in biography writing competition. The competition aimed to encourage students to recognise Dr. Ambedkar's vision to create a nation on the firm grounds of democracy and social justice along with sustainable development. AMBEDKAR JAYANTI CELEBRATION II MIDDLE WING II
A session on Entrepreneurship and Happiness was organized for the students of class VIII. Resource Person Mr. Shibanandan Das from MBCIE gave examples of famous entrepreneurs like Warren Buffet, Ruskin Bond, Madam Currie etc. who took risk in their life and became successful. He also added that the real meaning of happiness is creating and inventing something. We can’t be happy if we just follow the race. This kind of happiness is just momentary. Over all, it was an interesting session in which he motivated students to follow their passion without thinking about societal pressure.

To acquaint the students about the World Health Day, various activities were conducted. Students relished healthy food and also shared nutritive value of the respective dish with their classmates. Health tips were given by Health Club members. There was a Teachers’ Talk in every class to make the students aware of the importance of the day and good health. Students were motivated to keep good health by following health tips. Students were inspired to have personal Hygiene and also to take a balanced diet. Students enjoyed healthy food during fruit break and lunch break.
WORLD HEALTH DAY
A rally that aims at creating awareness among the public on the need to preserve bio diversity & save energy was taken out by the Eco Club students of classes VI to VIII of BCM School, Chandigarh Road. The rally was themed as Mission Prakriti in order to create awareness among the people of the nearby locality. School Principal D.P. Guleria along with School Manager Dr. Prem Kumar inaugurated the rally and praised the students for their initiative in creating awareness. He also added that such kind of efforts are quite significant as they not only make the society aware about the social issues but also enable the children to realize their responsibilities as a citizen. The students carrying banners and placards with messages about preserving biodiversity, traversed through the main thoroughfares of Sector 32 A, before culminating at the school premises. The highlight of the rally was the Nukad Natak presented at the center point of the rally that was seen and appreciated by majority of the people.
AWARENESS RALLY
To spread awareness among students about need and importance to follow traffic rules a team led by SI Narinder Singh from traffic police Ludhiana visited the school campus. They visited Classes XI & XII and guided the students about traffic rules and guidelines to be followed while driving a vehicle. They also highlighted the penalties and punishments for not following the guidelines by traffic police department.
AWARENESS SESSION TO OBSERVE ROAD SAFETY WEEK
Our school is firmly rooted in enriching philosophy of Maharishi Dayanand Saraswati that highlights the importance of value education and the need of the society for balanced individual who can become diligent citizens of our country.
The 199th birth anniversary of the founder of the Arya Samaj, Swami Dayanand Saraswati ji was celebrated with great frolic in the school premises. The celebration started with the chanting of Ved Mantra and the Gayatri Mantra during Hawan Ceremony rendering the environment in to a spiritual environment.
A special assembly was conducted wherein parents were called to share ideologies of Swami Ji. Teachers acquaint the students with the life & teachings of Swami Ji. Videos related to his life were also shown to the students. They were also told that it was Swami Dayanand Saraswati Ji who eradicated all the superstition and atrocities against society and favoured female education. Students of classes I to VIII participated in plethora of activities in which they wrote and explain golden rules of Arya Samaj & Hawan Mantras.
199th BIRTH ANNIVERSARY OF MAHARISHI DAYANAND SARASWATI JI
Class X & XII aspirants who are going to appear in AISSE & AISSCE this year, joined hands in prayers to seek blessings of almighty at the Yagyashala of the school. The echo of sacred chants and aroma of Havan filled the atmosphere with divine ambience, when the students poured holy offerings into sanctified fire.
After the havan, Tanushri, Ankita, Gunkirat Singh, and Aakshi Class XII students of music serenaded melodious bhajan, shabd and carols. Thereafter, few students shared their heartfelt emotions about their school life and expressed their gratitude towards teachers. Aastha shared about how she became a national level swimmer besides excelling in academics with motivation of her teachers. Aishmeen expressed her overwhelming feelings about how she transformed from a timid and introvert girl to a multi-tasking performer. Satyam Sharma felt nostalgic on recalling the school trips and sports with class mates. Shreya Sharma recited a piece of meticulously composed poem dedicated to her journey of schooling at BCM School.
The teachers showered their blessings with flower petals on the students, reciting ‘Swasti Vachan. Mr. Amarjeet Singh (PGT Physics) gave valuable tips to the students regarding preparing for and performing in exams.
The School Principal, Mr. D.P.Guleria blessed the students and recalled those times when these students had entered the School and started their journey with Havan itself. He further added that the school has tried its best to ensure holistic grooming of the students and hoped that they will carry the ethics and morals learnt at school with them all life. The ceremony concluded with distribution of Prasad to all.
HAVAN FOR X & XII ASPIRANTS
BCM School, Chd. Rd. was abuzz with excitement and fervour as it was the day of their Exhibition on the theme “Mission Prakriti”.
The objective of the exhibition was to bring forth the innate skills and hone the creative genius of the students in order to sensitise people about the need of protecting the environment. The exhibition provided the right platform for the middle wing students to display the varied and beautiful articles prepared by them. All the items on display were the handiwork of the students which were made from indigenous products. There were corners in the exhibition attributed to art, jewelry, painting, best out of waste, paper mache, rangoli, posters, food stalls and many more.
There were live rooms showcasing science models & plays to evoke love for nature. Parents appreciated the efforts of the students had put up an amazing array of artifacts.
With an endeavor to create awareness among the young students, this exhibition was one of its kind. The students of classes VI-XI showcased their scientific skills and creative thinking through self-designed working models and projects that were useful and sustainable in protecting health and environment and conservation of water. The demonstrations and explanations given by the participants impressed all the spectators. The live theatre counter presented a play on saving the endangered species and song on nature that enthralled one and all.
School Principal D.P.Guleria applauded the students for their innovative and novel ideas. He also encouraged the students to set higher aims in life and remarked that such exhibitions motivated and instilled the confidence in the young minds to think as artists, designers, and innovators. He also appreciated all the participants for working diligently in preparing for this mega event.
MISSION PRAKRITI EXHIBITION II MIDDLE WING II
13th Annual Athletic Meet of middle wing was organised amidst a lot of fun and frolic. The eventful day began with the hoisting of the school flag by School Principal D.P.Guleria along with Manager of BCM Schools, Dr. Prem Kumar who later took the salute as house contingents paraded past the grand stand. The lit torch was carried through the ground to burn in the cauldron symbolic of faith and integrity during the games. The students took the Oath to abide by the true spirit of sportsmanship through the games. Balloons were released as a symbol of joy and freedom. Students of Grades VI to VIII welcomed the guests and parents with a song & dance performance.
Students participated in different races and jump events viz. 100m, 200m, 4X 200 relay, Long jump & shot put displaying their vigor and athletic talents. The morning session concluded with the Prize Distribution of the students of Class VI. This threw the field open for the track events scheduled for the day. The highlight of the day was 100m race & couple race for the enthusiastic parents. The Closing Ceremony commenced with the power packed Aerobics performance attuned to the rhythm of the pre-recorded musical beats followed by song to evoke the audience for greener planet. Ravi House emerged as the winner of Annual Athletic Meet.

To create awareness among students of class X and their parents about the Streams offered in Class XI, subject combinations, optional subjects and to provide guidance for stream selection Orientation Programmes were organized by a team of teachers of senior secondary wing in which the students and parents were briefed about skills & traits required in a student to choose a stream, subjects in a steam, various exams after class XII and Career options. They were also told about the exams in class XI and their weightage, zero period activities, privileges and promotion policy. The programme ended with query session.

REPUBLIC DAY CELEBRATIONS
Saluting the spirit of sovereign India, 74th Republic Day of the nation was celebrated at BCM School Chandigarh Road with much grandiose. Principal DP Guleria and the Manager of school, Dr. Prem Kumar unfurled the tricolour.
The school ground aesthetically decorated in colours of tri-colour offered a perfect arena for the magnanimous parade presented by the NCC cadets led by the Commander Nitin, school band and students from the four houses.
Thereafter the School band presented a stupendous performance in honour of the national flag.
Among other attractions of the event; a patriotic song by the school choir, duet singing performance by Agam and Sanya, solo song by Parvi Sharma of Class one, dance performance and above all the fiery bhangra were the show stealers.
Addressing the audience, Mr. Guleria congratulated all on this auspicious occasion, saluted the martyrs and informed about the innovative learning opportunities offered by the school Tinkering lab and Munjal Birmingham University. He motivated teachers and parents to align their personal values with their goals and further said, “Technology based education is the future of the nation and BCM School in collaboration with the parents and the management is on progressive path to achieve its desired goals.”
Dr. Prem Kumar in his address said "BCM Foundation is taking lead steps to provide knowledge of the latest technology to the students in all its institutions through the Meta-verse lab, Tinkering lab and other innovative practices."
The ceremony concluded with vote of thanks by the school captain Kriti and distribution of sweets among all the staff members.
