‘Techno Fest: An Enlightened Vision’ began at BCM School Chandigarh Road with much aplomb. The school organizes this Inter-School event every year to commemorate Birth Anniversary of the former President Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam. This year it is 16th of its kind celebrating 93rd Birth Anniversary of the missile man and is witnessing participation of contestants from 25 leading schools of the city; competing in activities like English Declamation, Coding Competition Decipher, Science Expo, Robothon and Science Quiz for certificates, trophies and cash prizes worth Rs. 8000/-.
The Manager of the school Dr. Prem Kumar declared the Technofest 2023 open. The Principal DP Guleria extended a cordial welcome along with his best wishes to all participating teams & escort teachers.
The valediction and prize distribution ceremony is scheduled on 16th October wherein Dr VP Sethi – a President Awardee and listed among the world’s top 2% global scientists by Stanford University – shall be presiding over the event as the Chief Guest and will give away prizes to the winners.
A panel of judges comprising of highly qualified and experienced scholars from renowned universities and colleges of the state will assess performance of contestants and pronounce the verdict.
Besides, developing scientific aptitude of the students, the event is also a tribute to the great scientist, innovator and leader – Dr. Kalam who himself was an epitome of assiduous efforts, diligence and allegiance towards duty.
16th TECHNO FEST ON THE GO AT BCM SCHOOL CHANDIGARH ROAD
To mark the occasion of International Girl Child Day different activities and competitions were organized. Teachers acquainted the students with the importance of the day. Students also read about young women achievers. A Role Play Competition was organized for the students of class II and III. Students enacted as Young Women Achievers. A poem recitation competition was organized for the students of class IV and V. The theme of the competition was “Dhiyan da Satkar." Students recited heart touching poems in Punjabi and gave message to help every girl child in the world to have the same rights of education, nutrition, medical care etc. A Poster making competition was also organized on the theme "Save Girl Child- Let her grow". Students participated in all the activities enthusiastically.

On account of ‘Hindi Diwas’, Hindi Department of BCM School, Chd. Road organized various competitions for the students. BCMites rejoiced as they celebrated Hindi Diwas with enthusiasm and fervour to emphasize the importance of Official Language of our country. A special morning assembly was organized to mark the importance of the country’s most widely spoken language. Students of all blocks participated in a plethora of activities consisting of Doha Gayan, Achman Mantra Recitation, Kavita Gayan, Ramayan ki Chopayeeyan, Kahavton se Kahani, Doha Lekhan, Slogan Writing, Bhashan Pratiyogita, Biographies of authors and poets etc. Students of class I and II mesmerized the judges when they recited dohas written by Kabir ji and Tulsidas ji with confidence and beautiful expressions. Class V students enacted as famous poets and poetesses of Hindi. To make the event fun filled and interesting, there was a round of riddles and puzzles also. The event was an initiative to make the students respect and learn the importance of our official language – ‘Hindi’. Students from all the blocks participated in this event enthusiastically. Principal D P Guleria conveyed his wishes on this auspicious day by saying that Hindi is an unbreakable part of India's culture. Hindi has been a unifying force for the whole nation for centuries and we should protect it and respect it.
Celebration of Hindi Diwas in BCM School, Chd. Road
To seek the blessings of Lord Krishna, Janmashtami was celebrated by students of BCM School, Chandigarh road with mirth and joy. To celebrate the extraordinary bond between man and the Almighty, students took the opportunity to participate in a plethora of activities. BCMites participated in Flute decoration, Krishna crown making, Matki Decoration, Jhula decoration, Poster decoration of Lord Krishna, Geeta Saar writing etc. Tiny tots of kindergarten presented a play on the life of Lord Krishna. Students also narrated anecdotes from Krishna’s life. Students were motivated to celebrate all festivals with true spirit of devotion and obedience towards the almighty. The purpose of the flamboyant cerebration was to inculcate the value of Karmas, truth and honesty among the students.
Janmashtami Celebration
Staff and students of BCM School Chandigarh Road offered a reverential tribute to Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan (1888-1975) who served as India’s Vice-President (1952-1962) and later as President (1962-1967) on his 135th birth anniversary. The day known as teachers’ day was marked with enthusiastic performances by the students and a session of interactive discussions by the teachers on New Education Policy (NEP). Students poured out their heartfelt emotions for the school and teachers through various forms of arts – hilarious comedy, songs, choreography, fun games etc.
The event commenced with lighting lamp and chanting gaytri mantra. The Manager Dr Prem Kumar began his speech with a tribute to all those teachers who contribute in shaping lives. He further said, “The nation is going through an amazing process of growth and positive transformation. Teachers too need to transform their outlook and approach towards teaching for making students future ready.”
The teachers during Panel Discussion shared their views to make NEP the most effective and productive for the students. Principal Mr. Guleria greeted and congratulated teachers on their special day. He motivated them to perform their role of nation builders with added enthusiasm. The event concluded with a sumptuous lunch provided by the school.

They penned down the short biography of the Second President of India whose birthday is celebrated as Teacher's Day. They showcased their love and gratitude for their teachers also by making beautiful bookmarks with quotations, Greeting Cards and writing Articles on their favourite Teacher.

The class IX C showcased an impactful class presentation on the theme 'The Essence of Languages,' where the students brilliantly expressed their creativity and talent through engaging activities like poem recitation, embodying essence of renowned authors and poets of various languages, sharing proverbs from different cultures, speech, song and dance. They passionately conveyed the message of promoting the elegance of regional languages.In addition, Parents,teachers, students and support staff became active participants of 'Swachhta Pledge' proposed by CBSE under 'Swachh Bharat Abhiyan ' in the end of assembly. It was a powerful and eye-opening assembly that left a lasting impression on the audience.

BCM SCHOOL CHANDIGARH ROAD RANKED NO.1 PARENTS' CHOICE
National Sports Day is always celebrated in BCM School, Chandigarh Road with great zest and zeal. This year was no exception. A special morning assembly was conducted to make the students aware about the life history of legendary hockey player Major Dhyan Chand, whose birthday is celebrated as National Sports Day. Students were encouraged to make games & sports an integral part of their life. Students participated in Fun Races, Balancing Activities, Chess & Carrom Competitions etc. An Inter House Sports Quiz was organized for the students of different blocks. Ravi House emerged as a winner. Class III students prepared collages of traditional games of India. Students penned down the life history of Major Dhyan Chand through colorful bio-sketches. All the students participated in these activities with full enthusiasm & vigor. The main motto of these activities was to raise awareness about the values of sports: discipline, perseverance, sportsman spirit and teamwork.

BCM School Chandigarh Road hosted Punjab School Basketball Zonal Tournament. Principal DP Guleria and Manager Dr Prem Kumar declared the 3 day event open on 19 August and it culminated on 21 August 2023. A total of 50 teams of various schools of Ludhiana competed for the coveted trophies in different categories. There were 14 teams for U-19, 17 teams for U-17 and 19 teams for U-14 categories.

BCM SCHOOL Hosts PSEB Zonal (Basketball) Tournament
BCM SCHOOL Chandigarh Road celebrated 77th Independence Day on 15th August 2023 in solemn and dignified demeanour at the school ground. The Chief Guest - Veer Chakra Awardee, Lt. Col. H S Kahlon hoisted the National Flag followed by the National Anthem. Tri-colour balloons were released denoting the nation’s freedom. Shri Suresh Chandra Munjal Trustee BCM Foundation, Mrs. Rama Munjal, Manager Dr. Prem Kumar, Principal Mr. DP Guleria graced the event with their presence. The gathering also included the Section Coordinators, parents, teachers and students. The NCC cadets, members of the school council along with the representatives of the four houses presented a magnificent guard of honour and parade. The students presented musical accolades to the nation, a choreography 'Salaam-e-Hind' giving a message of national integration through dances of different states. The Chief Guest, Mr. Kahlon congratulated everyone on the auspicious occasion and asked them to safeguard the nation’s integrity and contribute to its progress. Finally, the event came to a conclusion with a vote of thanks and distribution of sweets among the staff and students. Previously, as part of the on-going week-long celebrations of Amrit Mahotsav, students participated in a plethora of activities like Patriotic Poem Recitation, Role Play, crafting Tri Colour WindMills, flags, kites and National Symbols. The School House System also organised Inter-house Panel Discussions, Quiz and Several other Inter-House/Class activities.
CELEBRATIONS OF 77TH INDEPENDENCE DAY
ECO CLUB, secondary wing has organised an introductory counseling session event under the in-chargeship of Raghav Bhatia (Chairperson), Smarth Singh(Vice Chairperson), Unnat Jain (Coordinator), Sanyati Jain(Secretary) , Vanshika Sharma(Secretary) Jiya, Richi, Vani, Aryan Sharma and team under the guidance of Mrs. Manju Bhatti and Mrs. Kanak Pandey for the awareness of climate crisis on 12 August, 2023. The main motive of this event was to add aesthetic value to the living environment and to bring students and parents close to the nature and maintain ecological balance. Our mission is to plant more and more trees and reduce the non-biodegradable waste.
In this event we gifted the saplings and introduced a membership plan, So that parents can join us in our mission in this way we can get many ideas from different brains. 122 parents and teachers joined us in our mission due to our strong determination and organized work. They also influence their children to join us. Some parents were eager to join us because they want to take step to save our environment and they have found platform through our eco club.
We know that this is a small step but we also know that drop by drop the ocean grows. In addition to our mission this club will also organize various events throughout the year. Their activities includes conducting awareness rallies, awareness programme through presentations, discussions, debates , culture shows etc.. We shall also celebrate important days of the year like world water day, Earth Day, world environment day.
ECO CLUB, Secondary Wing has organised an Introductory Counseling Session
On July 26 in the year 1999, the world witnessed bravery of Indian Army when we conquered the Kargil war. To make students aware of such a glorious day and to pay tribute to the martyrs who laid down their lives for the sake of our mother land, different activities were conducted from class Nursery to class VIII. Teachers explained the importance of the day to the students. A video on brave soldiers of Indian Army was screened. Students drew shadow images of soldiers. There were Poetry Recitation and Slogan Writing competitions on the theme “Let’s rejoice the victory of our Jawans”. A Bio Sketch writing competition was organized in which students penned down short biographies of Kargil war heroes. Students also saluted Indian army by making beautiful thank you cards and collages of Kargil heroes.

The Leadership Training Camp for the newly selected students' Council members concluded in a grand ceremony on June 10, 2023 The camp continued for 10 working days from May 29 to June 10, 2023 wherein the participants were trained for five hours everyday by a team of competent teachers. The camp fortified students' skills of head, heart limbs and gut. Officer like qualities have been developed in the trained council members by participating in activities like athletics, life skills, yoga, group discussion & group planning, mathematical reasoning, mental aptitude, table manners etc. The school Principal. Mr D P Guleria congratulated and honoured the newly trained council members for having completed the camp successfully. He said that the hard work put in by the participating students and training teachers is surely going to bear sweet fruit in the session 2023-24.

BCM School Chandigarh Road is organizing ‘Leadership Training Camp’ for the newly selected Students’ Council members for the academic session 2023-24. The event commenced with a grand opening ceremony and shall continue for 10 working days from 29 May to 10 June, 2023 wherein the participants shall be provided with intensive training by a team of competent teachers for 4 hours daily from 8 am to 12:30 pm followed by community lunch.
The camp aims at fortifying students’ skills of head, heart, limbs and gut. The students will also be briefed about their roles and responsibilities as council members. On completion of the training the students shall develop officer like qualities which will enable them perform their duties efficiently.
The camp offers an opportunity to partake in activities like athletics, yoga, life skills, group discussions, declamations, mathematical reasoning, mental aptitude, table manners etc.

106th birth anniversary of philanthropist industrialist and Co-founder of BCM Foundation Mahatma Satyanand Ji Munjal was celebrated with aplomb. Students participated in a week long activities that concluded with the auspicious hawan ceremony. School Principal D P Guleria along with teachers and students paid homage to the reverend Mahatma Ji. Students of various classes sang melodious bhajans and recited hawan mantras. Principal D P Guleria quoted that Mahatma Ji’s life is an inspiration for many of us. We are grateful to Mahatma Ji for his principles and we promise that we will not leave any stone unturned to take our school to the zenith of success. Teachers from different blocks also remembered Mahatma Ji and how they idolize the Nobel soul and try to implement his teachings in letter and spirit. Session on Handling Stress and Anxiety was organized at BCM School
Stress is a physical reaction to a person's emotions. Both positive events and negative events can cause stress. An interactive session on How to handle stress and anxiety in teenage was organized for the students. The resource person Dr. D.S. Batth, MD Pediatrician & Elected President of Adolescent Health Academy of Punjab had a talk with more than 200 students. This session was organized especially for the students of Classes VI to VIII those who are on the threshold of facing challenging situations ahead. Because of the fast developing technology and media exposure, the tender minds of the young boys and girls are often perplexed which makes them vulnerable to negative forces. He laid great emphasis on the ways and means to cope with stressful situations which teenagers pass through, especially exam related stress. He also said that stress to some extent is useful too, for it creates an urge in their minds to gear up and start their preparations. Very useful tops like creating the right study environment, identifying the essential information, summarizing revising, taking care of one’s health etc were also given.

A remarkable assembly was conducted by class X-D on the topic HUES OF PUNJAB on 12th May 2023 in MATA THAKUR DEVI AUDITORIUM.
BCM school, sector 32 has always aimed at the overall development of its students as a result of which we have earned a reputation for producing well trained and competitive youngsters across all groups. Keeping in tune with the same, BCM school organised a 2 day inter- house basketball tournament for senior section boys on May 10 and 11. After the formal opening by the Principal of the school, Mr DP Guleria, the basketball court was filled with great zeal, excitement and frolicsome atmosphere. The budding players were beset by various emotions like apprehension, pride and aggression. After the initial league of matches , the final match was played between Ravi and Yamuna Houses. Ravi house emerged as the winner. All the members of the winning team were awarded medals and a trophy was presented to them by the Principal. The players learned that a game is not only about winning but also about knowing how to accept defeat gracefully.

A special assembly on Mother’s day was organized by students of X B to celebrate Mother’s day on 10th May, 2023.The main idea was to highlight the importance of mother in the life of a child and to make our mothers feel special.To make the celebration more special , mothers of students of class X B were invited to the school to be a part of the colorful celebration.
On the theme of ‘Mother’s Love and sacrifice’, special songs, dances, mime and poetic recitation were presented. The heartfelt and stellar performance of the students was a moment of reckoning for the mothers to introspect on the immense influence and pivotal role one has to play in a child’s life.
