BCM Kindergarten, Sec. 32-A, celebrated Hindi Diwas to instilling love for the mother tongue in the hearts of little BCMites for the Hindi language. The  special  morning  assembly  was  conducted  where  the  kids  recited  poems in the mother tongue. The  teachers  told  the  importance  of mother  tongue to  the  kids  in  their  respective  classrooms.

Children exhibited their artistic skills and creativity in the Greeting Card Making activity organized for the UKG students. Students used different colours, drawings, stones and stickers to beautify their creations. The students dedicated these cards to their teachers. The efforts of the children were highly appreciated by their respective teachers.

5^th September is the birth anniversary of a great teacher Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan , who was a staunch believer of education, & was a well-known diplomat , scholar President of India and above all a teacher. In India 5^th September is celebrated as the Teacher’s Day as a mark of the tribute to the contribution made by teachers to the society. To celebrate the Teacher’s Day Oration on ‘My Ideal Teacher’ activity was organized for the classes VI to VIII. The students from classes VI to VIII expressed their heartfelt euphoria by participating in oration. The students participated with full enthusiasm & glee in all the activities. The School Principal, Mr. D.P.Guleria said, “Teachers are the real shapers of the future building blocks of the country .They shape up the student’s life.”

Teachers  play a major role in making their students    responsible citizens of tomorrow and good human beings. Teacher’s day is celebrated to show our acknowledgement and recognition to the hard work put in by teachers towards development.

To mark the importance of the day a greeting card making and an Article writing (My Ideal Teacher) competition were conducted in classes I to III and IV – V respectively. The students showcased their talent through beautiful cards and thoughtful articles.

Two students of Primary wing naming Aayush Jain of IV-A and Saandhiya Jain of V-C participated in Wild Wisdom Quiz 2017 conducted by WWF-India at Learning Paths School, Mohali on September 4, 2017. The Quiz master was Mr. Sharad Manocha  from Jallandhar. 36 schools from various cities of North zone participated in this event. Though most of the teams were from Tricity i.e Chandigarh, Mohali and Panchkula, yet a few of them came from far away cities also like- Hamirpur, Shimla, Yamunanagar etc. From Ludhiana five teams were there. All the teams competed for stage round through a written test.  Five teams were selected for stage round. Our team was also one of them. Students  participated confidently and bagged many prizes like medals, certificates, T-shirts, CD’s and books. 

BCMites bagged second prize in Baba Gurmukh Singh Inter School Shabad Gayan Competition held at Guru Nanak Public School, Sarabha Nagar, in which 19 teams of the renowned schools of the city participated.

NATIONAL SPORTS DAY

On the occasion of National Sports Day(Aug. 29) various activities were conducted. Students were told about the importance of sports and relevance of National Sports  Day which is celebrated to mark the birth anniversary of Legend – Major Dhyan Chand. Students from III to V participated in different indoor and outdoor sports events with great enthusiasm and zeal. The results of various events are as follows.

INTER HOUSE QUIZ COMPETITION ON NATIONAL SPORTS DAY

Padam Bhushan Major Dhayan Chand’s birth anniversary is celebrated as ‘National Sports Day’ on 29th August every year.  To honor the Legendary Hockey player & to enrich the knowledge and interest of the students for games, an Inter House Quiz Competition on the topic ‘Sports’ was organized in BCM School, Chandigarh Road, Ludhiana. In the competition, knowledge of the students about games was tested & they were encouraged to make games & sports an integral part of their life. In this Inter House Quiz Competition, four teams comprising of four students in each team of four Houses i.e., Beas, Ravi, Satluj & Yamuna participated with full enthusiasm & vigor. The students enthusiastically participated in three exciting rounds, General Round; Identify the Picture Round & Rapid Fire round. The questions related to achievements of renowned players were also asked in the quiz. The participants answered every question confidently and Rapid Fire round left everyone amazed as the participants answered the questions in quite succession. The main motto of the quiz was to give a boost to the importance of games & sports.“Satluj House”emerged as the winner house in this Inter House Quiz Competition. The School Principal, Mr. D.P. Guleria said, “Sports are not just training, but it is a culture that needs to be promoted. And there is no better place to do than schools that shoulder the responsibility of building India’s better future.”

  Claymodeling is one of the finest ways to tap the imagination among  the  kids. The tactility of clay sparks creativity among the children resulting in array of versatility. To do the same B .C. M. Kindergarten Sec-32-A organized ‘Clay Modeling Competition’ for the students of L.KG. It was a perfect platform for the creative minds to give shape to their Fantasy. The beautiful and multifaceted models made by children were a surprise for the beholders. Prizes were given to the winners and books were given as a souvenir to the participants.

IT QUIZ COMPETITION

IT Club of Middle Wing organized IT Quiz Competition for the classes VI & VII. The activity was conducted in the activity hall in zero period. There were 8 teams comprising of 2 students in each team. There were three rounds: General Round, MCQ Round and Picture Round. The names of the teams were based on computer terms. All the teams displayed their best caliber. The activity not only enriched their knowledge but also gave a boost to their confidence. During the competition questions were asked to the audience and they all participated whole-heartedly. The results of the same are:

Role  play stimulates the imagination, enhances  the social  developments and listening  skills of the kids. It also teaches them to be cooperative, empathetic with others and express their feelings well. Keeping     the same in mind B.C.M Kindergarten, Sec-32 A, organized “Role Play Competition” for U.K.G kids on  17 August 2017. Kids actively participated in this competition and played different roles to perfection. To see children enacting the roles of Sardar Bhagat Singh, Subhash Chandra Bose, Sarojini Naidu, Mrs. Indira Gandhi etc. was a feast to the eyes. In the end winners were given the trophies whereas the participants were given books as souvenirs.

Fervor Marks “Janamashtmi Celebrations”

Janamashtmi is a day of joy and jubilation, for it heralds the birth of Lord Krishna, the  beloved  of millions. BCM KG Section Sec32A celebrated this day with full zeal and zest on 12^th August 2017. The cute kiddies attired in the dress of Lord Krishna and Radha turned the campus into Vrindavan. To make the day vibrant Colouring Competition for Nursery kids was organized where the tiny toddlers filled the colour in the picture of Pot. Kids of LKG showcased their talent by decorating the ‘Flute‘ with  stones and colouful laces while the tiny tots of UKG participated in ‘Matki Decoration’ activity. Children also posed to their best for the clicks with the well decorated jhoola.

To colour the little Bcmites in the patriotic hue BCM Kindergarten Sec.32A, Chd. Rd. celebrated ‘Independence Day’ with great patriotic fervor, zeal & zest on 11 August. Kids of UKG charged up the atmosphere by participating in the ‘Role Play’ activity and enacting the roles of eminent Indian personalities who played an important role in the Indian freedom struggle. The kids of  Nursery & LKG gave an expression of love for nation by filling colours in the tricolour flag. So the day abuzz with activities was a rich learning experience for the young buds of KG section.

INDEPENDENCE DAY AND KRISHAN JANAMASHTMI CELEBRATION

To celebrate the liberty and to remember the great leaders of India, work experience club organized various activities for  the classes VI,VII & VIII. Students of class VI prepared Tri-colour Hoarding using three colours saffron, white and green. Students of class VII  prepared Tricolour  flower bunch and used the tri colours of our National flag. They all enthusiastically participated in all activities. The judgment was done on the basis of theme, Neatness, Presentation and overall impact. On the other hand, students of class VIII participated in ‘Janamashtmi Scene creation’ activity in order to celebrate the festive fervor of Krishan Janamashtmi . Judgment was done on the basis of Theme, Neatness, use of articles and overall presentation.

A nation with such youth power can dream big. To celebrate ‘International Youth day’ English Articulator’s club  of Middle Section organized ‘Declamation Competition’ for the students of classes VI,VII and VIII on 9 August ,2017 during Zero Period.23 students from different classes participated in it. 47 students of BCM School Chandigarh Road took part in Saawan Teej Fest - 2017 held at OP Munjal Rakh Bagh on 5 August, 2017 and won the laurels in various events. They proved the mettle of their creativity by bagging various positions in different events &our school hogged the limelight among 32 schools bylifting the Overall Trophy. A total of 8 events were held and they participated in all the competitions and won many accolades.

The students received cash prizes &trophies from Shri S.K.Rai, Worthy Vice Chairman Hero Cycles Ltd. Giving details about the event. The School Principal , Mr. D.P.Guleria said, “Our all budding talents  from the school made us proud by bringing the Overall Trophy .The school is proud of their success.”

He further said, “Our school children competed with students from 32 schools & by giving them a tough competition they won the overall Trophy.”

The chaste bond of love between brother and sister is one of the deepest and noblest of human emotions. ”Raksha Bandhan” is a special occasion to celebrate this emotional bond by tying the holy thread around the wrist of loving brother. The sacred festival –‘ Raksha  Bandhan’ was celebrated in the Kindergarten Section of BCM School Sector 32-A,Chandigarh Road on Aug 5. Students of Nursery, L.K.G, U.K.G, participated with great zeal and zest  in  ‘Rakhi making" activity. Kids made beautiful rakhies with  flowers, pearls, colourful stones. Teachers also acquainted the students with the different stories related to the day.

"Rakhi is a holy thread signifying a bond of unconditional love between a brother and a sister."

On the pious occasion of Rakhi, different competitions were conducted. The students participated with great zeal and enthusiasm and showcased their talent in different hues with an essence of creativity.

PSEB ZONAL VOLLEYBALL TOURNAMENT                                           1AUG. – 4 AUG.

U-14 Boys team  got Silver Medal in PSEB Zonal Volleyball Tournament. 

Teej, the traditional festival of Punjab was celebrated with a great enthusiasm in BCM   Kindergarten Chandigarh road  Ludhiana on  29 July 2017. The tiny tots of Nursery, LKG and  UKG  came in colourful attires. To add more colours and  vibrancy to the day  a `Solo Dance’ competition was organised  for the students. 30 students took part in this competition. Mrs Radha Malik & Mrs. Gurdeep Kaur (Parents of the students) judged this competition. The winners of the competition were given trophies and participants were given books as a souvenir. The students of UKG and Nursery too tapped their feet on the Punjabi beats. Principal Mr. D.P. Guleria said that such type of celebrations are the need of the hours to keep our culture alive .

In Dell Arambh (Digi Mom Training Campaign) which is supporting the Digital India dream, 35 Mothers assembled in school campus and got the knowledge regarding use of internet in day to day life. They got to know about online shopping, e-banking, online child education, downloading of NCERT books, use of you tube, hotstar, khan academy, mathtv.com etc.                                         

British Council Activity (ISA Project -3)          27 July, 2017

Farmer is the Anndata and the backbone  of each country .  The prosperity of the nation depends on the tools and techniques of the farming used by the country. To enhance the knowledge of farming, its tools and techniques, topography of soil etc. the activity” An Odyssey- Producer to Provider” ISA Project- 3 was started in the Middle Section.  Introduction of the Activities as PAU Visit, Map and Graphical Presentation, Quiz and Model Making under  this  project,  was given to the students . A   lecture about farming  was delivered  for the students of 7 & 8 .A Power Point Presentation was also presented to give the global  knowledge about farming  in India, Bangladesh and America. In this activity 220 students participated with great enthusiasm

PUNJAB SCHOOL ZONAL VOLLEYBALL TOURNAMENT         27-28 JULY

Punjab school Zonal Tournament was held at GGN govt. school Rose Garden Ludhiana.  In it under 14 Girls team bagged second position and three Girls Kritika – VII-G, muskan – VII-C, Muskan Gupta – VIII-A were selected for U-14  district level tournament . 

To aquaint the young B.C.Mites of the ways of planting trees  ‘Tree plantation  Activity’ was done  for the students of Nursery  on 22 July 2017. The class teachers  took their respective classes to the school ground  one by one and there the school  gardener helped the children in planting  the saplings. The teachers not only familiarized the students with the different parts of the plants but also told the importance of plants and trees for the survival of life on earth.

 A man is known for his manners. A man of good manners is appreciated everywhere as they add grace and charm to one’s personality. To enrich the little Bcmites with the invaluable asset of pleasing manners a  Good Manners week  (17 July – 22 July ) was celebrated for all the classes in the KG section. Children in this week learnt about helping others, obedience, sharing and caring, cleanliness of surroundings and importance of the sorry, thank you and please. To make the learning of these invaluable values interesting teachers narrated stories, showed different cartoon clippings and involved the kids in varied activities. Principal Mr. D.P. Guleria appreciated the efforts of the teachers and opined that such type of activities are the need of the hour to give a strong foundation to the character of young buds.

To honour the Kargil War Heroes, who laid down their lives in Kargil War in 1999 while safeguarding the country, July 26 is marked as ‘Kargil Victory Day’. To make the students aware of the sacrifices of the soldiers of the Indian Army, ‘A Bio- Sketch Writing’ competition on any Kargil War Hero was conducted in classes IV and V. Students of English Articulators Club of these classes participated in it.They pasted pictures of these heroes and penned down their short biographies. Through this activity they remembered and saluted those martyrs who had sacrificed their lives to save our motherland.

To infuse the respect for Indian Army, Rakhi Making and Greeting Card Making activities were conducted in BCM School on July 27. These activities were conducted to motivate the young generation to buy Indian products and to boycott Chinese products. All the students participated with full zest and zeal. The students conveyed their feelings to the Indian Army through beautiful messages.

The young buds of UKG were thrilled to be a part of vibrant and energizing Solo Dance competition organized on july 20, 2017. Participants came in  colourful attires and swayed and tapped  on  the melodious tunes. The audience comprising of the parents of the participants were left spellbound with the energetic moves of the contestants. The happiness of the children was amply evident with applauses and appreciation. The winners of the competition were given Trophies and Books as a souvenir to the participants. Principal Mr. D. P. BCM  kindergarten Sector 32A organised “Boat Making Activity”   for tiny tots of LKG and UKG on15 July 2017. This activity was organised to make the monsoon season more interesting, colourful and  creative for the kids. Kids really enjoyed the art of  folding paper and making colourful   boats. They  experienced immense joy to float their paper boats  in the pool of water.
