Farmer is the Anndata and the backbone of each country . The prosperity of the nation depends on the tools and techniques of the farming used by the country. To enhance the knowledge of farming, its tools and techniques, topography of soil etc. the activity” An Odyssey- Producer to Provider” ISA Project- 3 was started in the Middle Section. Introduction of the Activities as PAU Visit, Map and Graphical Presentation, Quiz and Model Making under this project, was given to the students . A lecture about farming was delivered for the students of 7 & 8 .A Power Point Presentation was also presented to give the global knowledge about farming in India, Bangladesh and America. Punjab school Zonal Tournament was held at GGN govt. school Rose Garden Ludhiana. In it under 14 Girls team bagged second position and three Girls Kritika – VII-G, muskan – VII-C, Muskan Gupta – VIII-A were selected for U-14 district level tournament .

To aquaint the young B.C.Mites of the ways of planting trees ‘Tree plantation Activity’ was done for the students of Nursery on 22 July 2017. The class teachers took their respective classes to the school ground one by one and there the school gardener helped the children in planting the saplings. The teachers not only familiarized the students with the different parts of the plants but also told the importance of plants and trees for the survival of life on earth.

A man is known for his manners. A man of good manners is appreciated everywhere as they add grace and charm to one’s personality. To enrich the little Bcmites with the invaluable asset of pleasing manners a Good Manners week (17 July – 22 July ) was celebrated for all the classes in the KG section. Children in this week learnt about helping others, obedience, sharing and caring, cleanliness of surroundings and importance of the sorry, thank you and please. To make the learning of these invaluable values interesting teachers narrated stories, showed different cartoon clippings and involved the kids in varied activities. Principal Mr. D.P. Guleria appreciated the efforts of the teachers and opined that such type of activities are the need of the hour to give a strong foundation to the character of young buds.
GOOD MANNERS WEEK CELEBRATED || KG ||
To honour the Kargil War Heroes, who laid down their lives in Kargil War in 1999 while safeguarding the country, July 26 is marked as ‘Kargil Victory Day’. To make the students aware of the sacrifices of the soldiers of the Indian Army, ‘A Bio- Sketch Writing’ competition on any Kargil War Hero was conducted in classes IV and V. Students of English Articulators Club of these classes participated in it.They pasted pictures of these heroes and penned down their short biographies. Through this activity they remembered and saluted those martyrs who had sacrificed their lives to save our motherland.

To infuse the respect for Indian Army, Rakhi Making and Greeting Card Making activities were conducted in BCM School on July 27. These activities were conducted to motivate the young generation to buy Indian products and to boycott Chinese products. All the students participated with full zest and zeal. The students conveyed their feelings to the Indian Army through beautiful messages.

The young buds of UKG were thrilled to be a part of vibrant and energizing Solo Dance competition organized on july 20, 2017. Participants came in colourful attires and swayed and tapped on the melodious tunes. The audience comprising of the parents of the participants were left spellbound with the energetic moves of the contestants. SOLO DANCE COMPETITION ||UKG ||
BCM kindergarten Sector 32A organised “Boat Making Activity” for tiny tots of LKG and UKG on15 July 2017. This activity was organised to make the monsoon season more interesting, colourful and creative for the kids. Kids really enjoyed the art of folding paper and making colourful boats. They experienced immense joy to float their paper boats in the pool of water.

Beauty is the realm of the poetry; the children enjoy the beauty of expression, thoughts, feeling, rhyme, rhythm and music of words. Taking all these facts into consideration the Kindergarten Section of BCM School organized English Rhyme Recitation Competition on 23rd May for the students of UKG Class. This competition provided the children an opportunity to exhibit their talent and confidence. The participants chose a variety of topics for their recitation like nature, trees, flower, mother, teacher, unity in diversity etc. The Preliminary round was conducted in the class room from where two children from each of the ten sections were selected for the Final Round. The parents of the participants acting as an audience appreciated the contestants with their constant applauses. The winners were given trophies and the participants were given books as souvenirs. Principal Mr. D.P. Guleria highly appreciated the efforts of the students and teachers.

RHYME RECITATION COMPETITION ||UKG||
May 22 is proclaimed as International day for Biological Diversity in order to increase understanding and awareness of biodiversity issues. Biodiversity is important to prevent some species from becoming extinct. If rapid climate change continues at the current rate, wildlife may not have time to adapt which could cause many animals to go extinct. To make the students aware about the term 'Biodiversity' a collage making competition was conducted for class V on the topic " Endangered or Extinct Species". A " Best Out of Waste" Competition was also organized to make the students conscious about 3 R's 'Reduce, Reuse and Recycle' . Principal Sh. D.P. Guleria commended the efforts of students and inspired the students to contribute through their small efforts to save our planet and its Biodiversity.
BIO DIVERSITY DAY CELEBRATED
Children relate everything that they see with colours. They like to learn and experiment with colours in their initial steps towards learning. Imbibing this thought, the Kindergarten Section of BCM School Sector-32 A celebrated ‘Colours Week’ from May 15 to May 20. A week-long celebration, witnessed teachers and tiny tots coming to the school dressed up in specific colours. The children also brought food related to the colour meant for the day in their lunch box and also enjoyed many fun filled activities in their respective classrooms. The children really enjoyed learning the chapter of colours in a very interesting way.

To teach the lessons of self-dependence a ‘Tray Holding Activity’ was done for the students of LKG. In this activity the tiny tots learnt the art of hospitality i.e how to wish the guests who visit their home and to offer them a glass of water. The children really enjoyed this activity.

Talent Hunt Strikes BCM School
400 students participated in the Inter House Talent Hunt Competition organized by Middle Wing in BCM Senior Secondary School, Chd. Rd. Ludhiana to encourage the children to come forward & show their talent. All the students of four Houses -Beas , Ravi , Sutlej & Yamuna competed with one another in a constellation of activities. The young rising stars showcased their innate endowments in a number of events ranging from dancing & singing to literary competitions, dramatics & best out of waste. The main motto of these activities was to nurture the intrinsic qualities of students which help in personality development too. All the students unleashed their talent in all these activities & presented their best in front of audience students. The enthusiasm was purely evident as spectators were also boosting them with the continuous flow of clapping. The activities were adjudged by the appointed judges and Beas House emerged as the overall winner of Talent Hunt Competition. A trophy was awarded to the winning House. The school Principal, Mr. D.P.Guleria said, “Such events boost the confidence of the students and motivate them to come forward to unleash their talent. The guidance of teachers further sharpens their inborn talents. It is very important to organize co-curricular activities in school to groom their personalities.”

With the aim of capturing the excitement, the spirit and spontaneous enthusiasm infused inthe students, extracting their veiled talents and providing them a platform, Inter House Talent Hunt was organized for the students of Senior Section of BCM School on May 10, 2017 in which students showcased their innate talents in the form of dance, songs, skits creative art etc. The performances of the students not only entertained the audience but also Left them spellbound which was evident from the continuous claps of the audience. A good number of students from all four housestook part in this event with great zeal and zest. Satluj House emerged as the winner of this tough competition. The judges of the event appreciated all the participants and said that the platform has definitely taken all the participants one step ahead in their lives. The Principal of the school cherished the efforts of the students and teachers and opined that such events play an indispensable role in all-round development of the students.

Kindergarten section of BCM School Sec.32A organised a ‘Rhyme Recitation Competition’ for the students of LKG on May 15, 2017. 20 participants competed with each other and showcased their talent by confidently reciting beautiful rhymes like Save Girl Child, Save Water, Save Tree, Mom Spend Some Time with me etc. Mrs Shweta Palta And Mrs Mona Jain (Parents of UKG kids) judged the competition. The attractive props used by the participants made their performance eye catching & lively. The audience comprising of the parents of the participants were very happy to see their kids performing on the stage. Astronomy Day is an annual event celebrated in every Spring and Fall to share the wonders and excitement of astronomy and to bring astronomy to the people. To make the students acquaint of the wonders of space a “ Space Quiz” was organized for Quiz Club members of class IV. Members of English Articulators club of Class IV and V participated in a “ Bio- Sketch writing competition” wherein they articulated life history of astronauts of Indian origin. Both activities were informative and interesting for students. They participated enthusiastically and winner were appreciated with certificates.

To salute the selfless love and care of Mother and celebrate Mothers` Day, plethora of activities were conducted in BCM School, Sector 32-A, Chandigarh Road on May 13,2017, in which students from kindergarten to senior section took part with great enthusiasm, highlighting the contribution and importance of mother in the life of a child. In kindergarten, a speech in morning assembly, poem recitation and beautiful greeting cards highlighted the feelings of the tiny tots for their mothers. Students from I to V drafted beautiful messages andrecited heart touching poemsfor their mothers expressing their gratitude and love.The students showcased their feelings by participating in “Greeting Card Making” (VI) and‘Thank You Mom’ Message Writing “( VII ) & ‘MeriPyariMaa’ Message Writing on Greeting Card (VIII), Poem RecitationPunjabi Articulators` club of senior section to express their love and gratitude for their mothers in varied hues and shades.The students showedtheir adoration to mothers’ with great exuberance and depicted their feelings through these activities. National Technology Day is celebrated every year on May 11 to commemorate the history of India’s technological innovations, excellence and advancements. To honor the day, members of I.T. Club participated in PPT Show based on the theme “New Technologies and their benefits”. Each participant explained the PPT and presented it in a different way. The audience students were amazed to see the advancements of technology explained in the PPts. The winners of the competition were rewarded with certificates. On the other hand members of Eco Club presented a Bird Migratory Bird Show on the occasion of World Migratory Bird Day. The students broached the different migratory birds while going from class to class & they gave the information about their native land, altitude & their destination.

BCMites burst into Laughter
Laughter is the best medicine as it is a relaxant, an energizer, mood elevator, and pain reliever. To spread the vibes of laughter, joy and happiness in the school campus KG Section of BCM School, Chd. Road celebrated ‘World Laughter Day’ on 6th May 2017 for the classes – Nursery, LKG & UKG. The teachers in classrooms not only acquainted the students with the health benefits of laughter and but also did laughter yoga with the kids. To leave the long lasting impact on the little BCMites teachers involved the students in the Smiley making activity. The children had burst of laughter on watching a movie of Charlie Chaplin.

World Red Cross Day was celebrated in connection with the 189th birth anniversary of Red Cross Society founder Jean Henry Dunant in BCM School with full ardor and zest. On the occasion, the students of Middle & Primary Wing garlanded the day by paying tribute to the first Noble Prize winner Sir Jean Henry Dunant, through a constellation of activities. The students participated in Declamation, Poster Making, and Poem Recitation activities. The main motto of activities was to make the students aware about greatness of Peace and Harmony and let them to explore the work and principles of this great Movement so that they can distinguish the right from wrong. Hindi Articulators’ Club of Senior Wing organized the activity ‘Katha Utsav’ in which they all expressed their one aspiration i.e., amity and coherence among the different members of the society. The school Principal, Mr. D.P.Guleria advised the students to follow the path of peace and unity to make the earth a better place to live in.
Labour Day was celebrated at BCM School, Sector 32-A, Chandigarh Road with full aplomb. School campus wore a festive look with gleeful faces and streams of Thank you cards all set to celebrate the unsung pillars of the school.A special assembly inaugurated the day wherein students made everyone acquainted of the importance of the day and also thanked all the helpers of the school for their support and dedication. A cultural function was organized for Class IV employees. The function kicked off with a speech welcoming the workers and acknowledging their hard work. The ceaseless efforts of the work force of the school were lauded. Various cultural activities and games were conducted for them in which they participated with great zeal and ethno. Gifts of gratitude were handed over to the helpers of the school.Workers were overwhelmed watching the function and expressed their gratitude towards the school management, teachers and students for their endeavors.
School principal Mr. D.P. Gurleriathanked the employees acknowledging their contributions admitting their irreplaceable inputs for the welfare of the school and motivated students to respect all such people without whose help, life would not be that easy.The class IV employees were taken aback by the show of affection and numerous expressions of gratitude.
LABOUR DAY
With the aim of honing the dancing skills of the students and to celebrate World Dance Day, profusion of solo dance competitions ,keeping in mind the level of the students were organized for the students of primary, middle and senior secondary section on April 29, 2017,through which the vivacious dancers set the floor on fire with their energetic performances. The fun filled extravaganza offered different dance forms. The spectators witnessed the enthusiasm and energy of the young performers as they enthralled everyone with their presentations.
The adjudicatorshighly complimented the efforts put in by all the participants. The Principal of the school appreciated the efforts of the students and opined that dance is one of the best forms to express ourselves as it is the conversation between body and soul. The winners of the contest were awarded with certificates.
International Dance Day Celebrated
“Leaders are not born but are made by their experience in life.” To inculcate the leadership qualities in students and to give them a feel of functioning as a Prefectorial Body, BCM School, Chandigarh Road, Ludhiana conducted a formal Investiture Ceremony for its Primary Wing on 27th April, 2017.
Being chosen via systematic and carefully conducted process of written tests and a series of interviews, the deserving young talents of the primary wing were bestowed with the responsibility of leading the school. NCC Cadets of 19 Punjab Battalion extended a sprightly guard of honour to the Chief Guest Dr. Smruti Vinodrai Patel (Pediatric Cardiologist) and other dignitaries. A warm oral and floral welcome was accorded to the. The programme began with kindling of the ceremonial lamp by the Chief Guest.
The student council took the oath to abide by the school rules. The newly elected office bearers Head Boy Mohit Verma, Head Girl G.Sreya along with sports captains and House Captains were conferred with sashes by the chief Guest. The Principal, Mr. D.P. Guleria sermonized the students to be loyal, Optimistic and enthusiastic while performing their duties. He also blessed the prefects and the council members. The Chief Guest, also congratulated the selected students and motivated them to scale new heights in future life. The ceremony concluded with a yoga Show followed by Vote of Thanks and recital of National Anthem.

A leader is someone who understands the responsibility that comes with power. To imbibe a sense of responsibility and true leadership among the students, BCM School Chandigarh Road, Ludhiana conducted its formal Investiture Ceremony for its senior and middle wing on 26 April 2017.
Being chosen via carefully conducted and systematic process of written test and a series of interviews, the deserving young talents of the middle and senior wing were bestowed with the responsibility of leading the school from the front.
NCC cadets of 19 Pb. Battalion extended a sprightly guard of honour to the Chief Guest and other dignitaries. The ceremony began with lighting of lamp amidst echoes of Gaytri Mantra followed by oral, floral and musical welcome of the guests.
The student council under the leadership of School Captain Ajay Deswal took the oath to abide by the school rules and hold the school motto of Gyan, Swabhiman, Kalyan in high esteem.The newly elected office bearers Head Boy Arpit, Head Girl Alisha along with, Sports captains and House Captains were honoured with sashes bythe Chief Guest Dr. NeeruKatyal, Gupta (PCS) ADC (Gen.), Ludhiana.
The Principal, Mr. D.P.Guleriacongratulated the office bearers and expressed his hope that theywould carry out their responsibilities and deliver the duties bestowed upon them with integrity, faith and excellence.
The Chief Guest Dr. NeeruKatyal in her inspirational speech reminded the students that with position comes responsibility towards their school and peers &stressed on the need to become an example for the others to follow.

Students of LKG had a gala time on 24th April 2017 as they took part in the final round of Colouring Competition. 20 students reached in the final round and contested with each other for I, II & III positions. Fresher’s party in BCM Kindergarten
BCM Kindergarten, sec.32A, Chd. Road organised a ‘Fresher’s party’ for the Nursery kids on April 22, 2017. It was a carnival like environment in the campus. Children dressed up in colourful dresses were vibrant with energy and enthusiasm. They tapped their feet on the peppy song and enjoyed their favourite food items in the company of their friends. Kids enjoyed viewing the story ‘The Monkey and The Crocodile’ and their favourite rhymes. Overall it was very enjoyable experience for the young ones.

To teach the children at an early stage the importance of mother earth the Earth day was celebrated in BCM Kindergarten on 22nd April. Kids of Nursery enjoyed pasting the pictures of earth on the paper. Kids of LKG and UKG coloured and pasted the picture of tree and gave the massage “Save Earth Save Trees”. Children were also shown the globe and detailed about the shape of the earth. The teachers also aquainted them about the harmful effects of polythene bags and influenced not to use them.

To imbibe the sense of responsibility among young generation, Earth Day was celebrated with full gusto in BCM School. To give the day a superior start, special Morning Assembly was organized which was based on the theme of ‘Make Every Day Earth Day ’, in which students appealed for the clean & green earth through a skit. Students and teachers also delivered the thought provoking speeches. The members of Eco Club took the responsibility of making the masses aware about ailing earth on their tender shoulders through a rally and took the Sec -32 & its surroundings on round. On the other hand members of Gardening Club planted the saplings in school garden for a better clean & green future. And with the same zeal and concern, students exuberantly participated in World Book Day and paid gratitude and a tribute to the renowned & world famous author William Shakespeare through a plethora of activities. To rejuvenate the pleasure of book reading, students read the Inspirational Story Books & Biographies. And through Declamation and Poem Recitation they also got an additional opportunity to enhance their oratory skill .The whole day was filled with fun frilled enjoyment. The School Principal, Mr. D.P. Guleria appreciated the efforts of the students and advised them to take more initiatives for the betterment of earth. Further he suggested the students to make book reading an integral part of their life.
