WORLD RED CROSS DAY

World Red Cross Day was celebrated in connection with the 189th birth anniversary of Red Cross Society founder Jean Henry Dunant in BCM School with full ardor and zest. On the occasion, the students of Middle & Primary Wing garlanded the day by paying tribute to the first Noble Prize winner Sir Jean Henry Dunant, through a constellation of activities. The students participated in Declamation, Poster Making, and Poem Recitation activities. The main motto of activities was to make the students aware about greatness of Peace and Harmony and let them to explore the work and principles of this great Movement so that they can distinguish the right from wrong. Hindi Articulators’ Club of Senior Wing organized the activity ‘Katha Utsav’ in which they all expressed their one aspiration i.e., amity and coherence among the different members of the society.  The school Principal, Mr. D.P.Guleria advised the students to follow the path of peace and unity to make the earth a better place to live in.

LABOUR DAY

Labour Day was celebrated at BCM School, Sector 32-A, Chandigarh Road with full aplomb. School campus wore a festive look with gleeful faces and streams of Thank you cards all set to celebrate the unsung pillars of the school.A special assembly inaugurated the day wherein students made everyone acquainted of the importance of the day and also thanked all the helpers of the school for their support and dedication. A cultural function was organized for Class IV employees. The function kicked off with a speech welcoming the workers and acknowledging their hard work. The ceaseless efforts of the work force of the school were lauded. Various cultural activities and games were conducted for them in which they participated with great zeal and ethno. Gifts of gratitude were handed over to the helpers of the school.Workers were overwhelmed watching the function and expressed their gratitude towards the school management, teachers and students for their endeavors.

School principal Mr. D.P. Gurleriathanked the employees acknowledging their contributions admitting their irreplaceable inputs for the welfare of the school and motivated students to respect all such people without whose help, life would not be that easy.The class IV employees were taken aback by the show of affection and numerous expressions of gratitude.

International Dance Day Celebrated

With the aim of honing the dancing skills of the students and to celebrate World Dance Day, profusion of solo  dance competitions ,keeping in mind the level of the students were organized for the students of primary, middle and senior secondary section on April 29, 2017,through which the vivacious dancers set the floor on fire with their energetic performances. The fun filled extravaganza offered different dance forms. The spectators witnessed the enthusiasm and energy of the young performers as they enthralled everyone with their presentations.

The adjudicatorshighly complimented the efforts put in by all the participants. The Principal of the school appreciated the efforts of the students and opined that dance is one of the best forms to express ourselves as it is the conversation between body and soul. The winners of the contest were awarded with certificates.

Investiture Ceremony 2017 [Primary Wing]

“Leaders are not born but are made by their experience in life.” To inculcate the leadership qualities in students and to give them a feel of functioning as a Prefectorial Body, BCM School, Chandigarh Road, Ludhiana conducted a formal Investiture Ceremony for its Primary Wing on 27th April, 2017.

Being chosen via systematic and carefully conducted process of written tests and a series of interviews, the deserving young talents of the primary wing were bestowed with the responsibility of leading the school. NCC Cadets of 19 Punjab Battalion extended a sprightly guard of honour to the Chief Guest Dr. Smruti Vinodrai Patel (Pediatric Cardiologist) and other dignitaries. A warm oral and floral welcome was accorded to the. The programme began with kindling of the ceremonial lamp by the Chief Guest.

The student council took the oath to abide by the school rules. The newly elected office bearers Head Boy Mohit Verma, Head Girl G.Sreya along with sports captains and House Captains were conferred with sashes by the chief Guest. The Principal, Mr. D.P. Guleria sermonized the students to be loyal, Optimistic and enthusiastic while performing their duties. He also blessed the prefects and the council members. The Chief Guest, also  congratulated the selected students and motivated them to  scale new heights in future life. The ceremony concluded with a yoga Show followed by Vote of  Thanks and recital of  National Anthem.

Investiture Ceremony [Middle & Senior Section]

A leader is someone who understands the responsibility that comes with power. To imbibe a sense of responsibility and true leadership among the students, BCM School Chandigarh Road, Ludhiana conducted its formal Investiture Ceremony for its senior and middle wing on 26 April 2017.

Being chosen via carefully conducted and systematic process of written test and a series of interviews, the deserving young talents of the middle and senior wing were bestowed with the responsibility of leading the school from the front.

NCC cadets of 19 Pb. Battalion extended a sprightly guard of honour to the Chief Guest and other dignitaries. The ceremony began with lighting of lamp amidst echoes of Gaytri Mantra followed by oral, floral and musical welcome of the guests.

The student council under the leadership of School Captain Ajay Deswal took the oath to abide by the school rules and hold the school motto of Gyan, Swabhiman, Kalyan in high esteem.The newly elected office bearers Head Boy Arpit, Head Girl Alisha along with, Sports captains and House Captains were honoured with sashes bythe Chief Guest           Dr. NeeruKatyal, Gupta (PCS) ADC (Gen.), Ludhiana.

The Principal, Mr. D.P.Guleriacongratulated the office bearers and expressed his hope that theywould carry out their responsibilities and deliver the duties bestowed upon them with integrity, faith and excellence.

The Chief Guest Dr. NeeruKatyal in her inspirational speech reminded the students that with position comes responsibility towards their school and peers &stressed on the need to become an example for the others to follow.

The ceremony concluded with a yoga show followed by vote of thanks & national anthem.

Colouring competition of LKG

Students of LKG had a gala time on 24th April 2017 as they took part in the final round of Colouring Competition. 20 students reached in the final round and contested with each other for I, II & III positions. It was a great pleasure to see the tiny tots of LKG filling Colours in the pictures of Mangoes with such precision and accuracy. The winners were given certificates where as participants were given books as souvenir.

FRESHER'S PARTY ||KG ||

Fresher’s party in BCM Kindergarten

BCM Kindergarten, sec.32A, Chd. Road organised a ‘Fresher’s party’ for the Nursery kids on April 22, 2017. It was a carnival like environment in the campus. Children dressed up in colourful dresses were vibrant with energy and enthusiasm.  They tapped their feet on the peppy song and enjoyed their favourite food items in the company of their friends. Kids enjoyed viewing the story ‘The Monkey and The Crocodile’ and their favourite rhymes. Overall it was very enjoyable experience for the young ones.

EARTH DAY CELEBRATION|| KG||

To teach the children at an early stage the importance of mother earth the Earth day was celebrated in BCM Kindergarten on 22nd April. Kids of Nursery enjoyed pasting the pictures of earth on the paper. Kids of LKG and UKG coloured and pasted the picture of tree and gave the massage “Save Earth Save Trees”. Children were also shown the globe and detailed about the shape of the earth. The teachers also aquainted them about the harmful effects of polythene bags and influenced not to use them.

EARTH DAY & WORLD BOOK DAY CELEBRATION

To imbibe the sense of responsibility among young generation, Earth Day was celebrated with full gusto in BCM School. To give the day a superior start, special Morning Assembly was organized which was based on the theme of ‘Make Every Day Earth Day ’, in which students appealed for the clean & green earth through a skit. Students and teachers also delivered the thought provoking speeches.  The members of Eco Club took the responsibility of making the masses aware about ailing earth on their tender shoulders through a rally and took the Sec -32 & its surroundings on round. On the other hand members of Gardening Club planted the saplings in school garden for a better clean & green future. And with the same zeal and concern, students exuberantly participated in World Book Day and paid gratitude and a tribute to the renowned & world famous author William Shakespeare through a plethora of activities. To rejuvenate the pleasure of book reading, students read the Inspirational Story Books & Biographies. And through Declamation and Poem Recitation they also got an additional opportunity to enhance their oratory skill .The whole day was filled with fun frilled enjoyment. The School Principal, Mr. D.P. Guleria appreciated the efforts of the students and advised them to take more initiatives for the betterment of earth. Further he suggested the students to make book reading an integral part of their life.

Colours are a beautiful way to express the feelings.  Children love playing with  colours and putting them on canvas. To enable the UKG kids to express their tenderness through the colours BCM Kindergarten Sec.32A  Chd. Road organised ‘Colouring competition’. Emphasis was laid on neatness, colour pattern and combination. Kids of UKG enjoyed filling colours in the picture of Hut. EARTH DAY CELEBRATED || PRIMARY WING ||

Earth Day is the largest and most celebrated environmental event worldwide. Even forty six years after the first Earth Day, it is still a challenge before us to make the people aware about the motive behind celebrating this great day. To raise the awareness among students and to give a tribute to the Mother Earth a plethora of activities was organized by Eco Club & Work Exp. Club in BCM School, Sector 32-A. The school campus buzzed with different activities like Clay Modeling, Poem Recitation, Collage Making, Poster Making, Model Making and Mask Making.  The students prepared eye- catching models and masks of earth. Through their thought provoking creative work students showcased the alarming condition of our “Mother Earth”. They also recited beautiful poems and expressed their concern for our ailing planet.  All the students participated in these activities with full exuberance. The best entries were chosen from all classes and winners were awarded with certificates.

BAISAKHI CELEBRATION ||KG||

 

BCM Kindergarten Celebrated Baisakhi 

BCM Kindergarten Sec.32A, Chd. Road celebrated the Baisakhi festival with great enthusiasm on 12th April. The celebration was organized to showcase the vivid & rich culture of Punjab. A ramp walk of LKG students was organised where semifinalists competed with each other for the conveted titles  “Sohna Gabru” & “Sohni mutiyaar”. The kids looked beautiful in their Punjabi attires. Kids of UKG danced exceptionally well on Punjabi numbers. Trophies were given to children who won the titles & books as souvenir were given to all the participants.

BAISAKHI CELEBRATION II MIDDLE WING II

Baisakhi, the festival of Punjab, represents the demonstration of fervor among farmers for their harvest. To keep same fervor alive among growing leaders of tomorrow for their national heritage & culture, English Articulators’ club and Art Club organized a cluster of activities for classes VI, VII& VIII on the auspicious occasion of Baisakhi and 126th Birth Anniversary of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar. There were Bio sketch Writing & Poster Making activities for the classes VI, VII. The students of class VIII participated in One Act Play on Baisakhi . All students participated with full zeal and zest in all the activities. Best three entries were selected from classes VI, VII& VIII and winners were awarded with certificates

WORLD HEALTH DAY II MIDDLE WING II

To make the students aware about the good health and hygiene an activity on ‘Health and Hygiene’ was organized in Middle Section .The activities, lecture & Demonstration on “Good Food Habits” and “Shun Junk Food” were organized. A PPT show on “Health & Hygiene” was also systematized for the students. Students were made aware about the importance of good health & personal hygiene through these activities.  These all activities were systematized by the Health Club Members. The main motto of activity was to make the students aware about the harmful effects of Junk food & benefits of adding fruits, green leafy vegetables in our daily diet.

WORLD HEALTH DAY

To acquaint the students about the World Health Day, various activities were conducted in Primary Wing. Class In charges delivered a lecture and made the students aware of the importance of the day. Students were motivated to keep good health by following health tips. Health Club members had been shown a PPT on Health and personal Hygiene. Health Club In charges gave them tips to keep good health and personal hygiene. They were inspired to motivate their classmates regarding the same. Other than this the students also enjoyed Vegetable sandwich and sprouts in their fruit break. Overall it was an informative and useful activity.

WORLD HEALTH DAY [SECONDARY WING]

To celebrate World Health Day, BCM School organized plethora of activities on April 07, 2017, which not only created cognizance among the students about the need and importance of good health but also shouldered them with the responsibility to create awareness among the society members for the same. The morning assembly which included PPT, thought, shalok, poem , speech etc. was themed ‘Glow of Good Health’ and evoked the students’ desire to be fit and healthy for a exultant life. Various other activities underlining the same message in different ways were also conducted in the classes, which acted as catalyst to make the students comprehend that a healthy mind resides in a healthy body. The students and teachers took a pledge to avoid junk food and follow healthy diet

NATIONAL LEVEL COMMERCE TALENT SEARCH EXAMINATION

A National Level Commerce Talent Search Examination was held in the month of December, 2016. Around 90 students of our school also participated in it. Total participation in the test was approximately 8000 students from 250 school across all over India.

Shivangi Singla of XI Commerce Stream bagged second position at National Level. She was awarded a Digital Camera, Winner's Trophy and certificate. Prabhsimaran Singh of XII Commerce bagged 27 position at National Level. He was awarded a wrist watch, winner's trophy and certificate.

9th ALL INDIA MATHS SCIENCE TALENT EXAMINATION 2016-17

G. Sreya of Class IV - G bagged National Rank - 1 in 9th All India Maths Science Tqalent Exmination (AIMSTE 2016-2017) conducted by Centre for Excellence in January 2017. She has won a gold medal and a cash prize of Rs. 8000 .

Little BCMites Got Sacred Welcome

The KG section of BCM Sr. Sec. School was filled with the spiritual hue on March 29, 2017 as the new entrants of Nursery were welcomed with the chanting of mantras. It was the day when the Members of Management, school Principal elite guests, teachers and parents sought the blessings of the Almighty for the tiny tots on their first step in the journey of education. Principal Mr.D.P.Guleria in his address thanked the parents for reflecting faith in the school by selecting BCM for the apple of their eyes. He also guided the parents to be the right role models for their children as they learn many things from observation only. Manager, Sh. S.K. Mehta in his words assured the parents of quality education and unmatchable facilities for the children in the school.  On the day, students of UKG took the charge of the stage & surprised the audience with their meticulous oratory skills. They not only welcomed the dignitaries, parents and students but also expressed their love for school in length, shared the importance of Hawan and gave instructions for the ceremony. The ceremony concluded with the distribution of Prashad and introduction of the parents and students with the respective class teacher.
