Every year, Earth Day is celebrated on 22nd April at BCM School, Chd. Road to remind the students of their duties towards ‘Mother Nature.’ As a part of environmental education, "Go-Green" and “Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle” initiatives were taken to engage the whole school community in making a difference. Earth Day was celebrated through educational and action-oriented activities organized by Eco Club. In an awareness session, members of the Eco Club and Student Council expressed their views about our small but significant contribution to saving Mother Earth. They shared valuable tips with their peers for saving energy and water. Students were urged not to use plastic in any form. Students also took a pledge to reduce our plastic footprint and protect our beautiful planet. The school campus buzzed with different activities like Badge Making, Headgear Making, Poster Making, Transforming Trash into Treasure, and Tree Plantation drive. Student Council planted saplings under the supervision of the school gardener. All the students participated in these activities with full exuberance. The best entries were chosen from all classes and winners were awarded with certificates. Principal D.P Guleria added the finishing touch by addressing the students and emphasizing the importance of afforestation, planting of trees, and the need for everyone to put together their efforts and get into action, in protecting our environment.

Heritage Club members of BCM School, Chandigarh Road visit, visited the Sanghol Buddhist Archaeological Museum, Fatehgarh Sahib on World Heritage Day. This is the ancient site of Harappan Culture. Students were excited to know about the rich cultural heritage of India. The museum offered a glimpse into the ancient past of the region to the students. Students took a deep interest in the archeological excavations carried out in the region. They were awestruck to see the fine stone carvings sculptures, jewllery pieces, coins, pottery, seals and toys of the Kushan period. Students also got insights into the flourishing Buddhist culture in ancient India through Buddhist artifacts including sculptures, stupas and inscriptions kept in the museum. Students also visited two sites from which these remains were excavated. Students also came to know that our ancient civilizations were very scientific and developed.
Various other activities were also organized on the school campus to mark the day. Students of classes II and III prepared collages of Indian heritage sites. Students of classes IV and V penned down details of any heritage site along with the pictures. Students were also given knowledge about the World Heritage sites through a video presentation. Overall, the day was filled with different activities that provided knowledge of our rich heritage and culture to the students.
Principal DP Guleria appreciated the efforts of the club in charge and stated that such activities aim at celebrating as well as raising awareness about the heritage treasures of our country and preserving them for future generations.
HERITAGE CLUB MEMBERS VISITED SANGHOL ARCHEOLOGICAL MUSEUM
Vedas are the timeless sources of spiritual wisdom andguiding principles for ethical living. They are the reality of civilization and values. To spread knowledge and awareness about the vedas among students and parents a two-day Veda exhibition was organized in BCM School, Chandigarh Road Ludhiana. Mr. Suresh Chandra Munjal and Mrs. Rama Munjal ji inaugurated this exhibition and also discussed the relevance of the Four Vedas in our life. Later on, the exhibition was made open for the students and parents. The exhibition comprised of various stands on which the gist of four vedas was printed so that everybody can understand the relevance of Vedas.
School Principal DP Guleria thanked the School Management for giving the opportunity for witnessing such an event which will not only benefit the students but also the society. The event of Vedic language, culture and history brought spirituality into the school premises.

A grand farewell party was held at Mata Thakur Devi Auditorium to celebrate the graduating class of BCM School of 2023-24. This celebratory event, filled with nostalgia and well wishes, marked culmination of students' twelve-year journey at BCM. The event commenced with a warm welcome by student emcee followed by a montage of heartfelt photos and videos, taking graduates and faculty down memory lane, showcasing their shared experiences throughout the years.
In his address, Principal DP Guleria expressed his immense pride in the graduating class. "We have witnessed your growth and development over the years," he said, "and we are confident that you will go on to achieve great things." Mr. Guleria acknowledged the students' achievements, particularly highlighting those who received the prestigious Awards for academic excellence. He also extended his gratitude to the parents and teachers for their unwavering support in shaping the graduates' journeys.
The junior class presented a lively cultural performance, bursting with energy and entertainment, leaving the audience thoroughly impressed. This vibrant display of talent added a touch of light-heartedness to the emotional occasion.
As the day progressed, a graduating student delivered a moving speech expressing heartfelt gratitude to the school and teachers for their guidance and support. Their words resonated deeply with the audience, capturing the essence of the strong bonds forged within the BCM community.
Two most well-dressed students from each section of XII were honoured with sashes. Ms. Meenakshi Aggarwal (Section Coordinator) thanked all for making this event a grand success. The farewell ceremony concluded with a memorable photo session, where graduates and faculty captured cherished memories of their time together. A sumptuous lunch provided the perfect ending to the event.

Tribute to Mahatma Satyanand Ji
In a remarkable display of skill and determination, young table tennis players made their mark at the 1st Suresh Sharma Table Tennis Memorial held on April 12-13. The event witnessed a series of impressive performances, particularly in the junior categories.
Jasmeen Kaur emerged as a standout athlete, clinching the first place in both the under-17 and under-19 girls’ categories. Her prowess didn’t stop there; she also secured a commendable third place in the women’s category, showcasing her versatility and potential across age groups.
In the under-11 category, Harjas Singh, a bright young talent from class 4, displayed remarkable agility and technique to secure the third position. His performance has set a promising tone for his future in the sport.
The boys’ events were equally competitive, with Japsirat Singh making a strong impression. He fought hard to earn a third place in the under-17 boys’ category and went on to bag the second place in the under-19 boys’ category, demonstrating his skill and competitive spirit.
The Principal of the school Mr.D.P Guleria commended the students for their achievements and encouraged them to continue pursuing their passion with the same zeal and vigor.

Raising awareness about physical health and mental wellbeing, the NSS Unit and Health Club of BCM School, Chandigarh Road, jointly conducted various activities to celebrate World Health Day. During the morning assembly, Health Tips were shared with the students. There was a teacher’s talk in every class to make the students aware of the importance of the day. Students observed mindful meditation for some time. They also participated in discussions, and shared awareness messages on how eating healthy food, doing regular exercise, etc. will help us maintain good health, thereby making the world a fairer and healthier place to live in. Students of class V attended a seminar on Health and Hygiene where they were guided about keeping personal hygiene and taking a balanced diet through a PowerPoint Presentation. Capturing the theme of 2024 given by the World Health Organization “My Health- My Right” cadets of the NSS Unit inspired the young students of class IV to have healthy eating habits through a group song. A nukkad natak was staged to showcase the menace of drugs. NSS Cadets also presented a thought-provoking speech and group dance on our unhealthy lifestyle. They inspired the audience to acquire a healthy lifestyle. Students relished healthy food during the fruit break and lunch break and also shared the nutritive value of the respective dish with their classmates. The celebration fulfilled its objective of developing a deep understanding of the significance of good health for a better life.

Orientation Sessions, in the starting of a new session, help the students to get to know about the rules and regulations of the school and also help the students to adjust in a new environment. School Counsellor Mr. Sagar Khandelwal conducted a 2 day orientation session of Class VI students. He acquainted them with the rules and regulations of school and made them understand that change is an integral part of life. They should be ready to cope up with the changes that would occur in their life. He also made them aware about the house system and the house mentors of the middle wing. He informed the students about the various clubs which are a vital part of the house system that will help the students to hone their skills.

BCM School, Chandigarh Road, Ludhiana, proudly hosted a grand Commendation Ceremony today at Mata Thakur Devi Auditorium. The Commendation Ceremony served as a momentous occasion to celebrate the sports achievements of BCM School's students at the National, State, and District levels. It provided a platform to acknowledge their hard work, dedication, and instilled a sense of pride within the school community.
Ms Pradnya Gadre , a renowned Indian International Badminton player joined the event as the Chief Guest of the day and was given a warm welcome by the school band . The event commenced with warm welcome greetings by the Principal, followed by a resonating rendition of the school anthem followed by a melodious welcome song.
The ceremony's highlight was the felicitation of students who excelled at National, State and District levels sports events. National level swimmer Astha Sharma, State level badminton player Madhav and Parv expressed their happiness and gratitude to the school for facilitating them with required resources.
The presence of Ms. Pradnya Gadre motivated the students to pursue their dreams with unwavering commitment. She further inspired them by sharing her journey and with her words of encouragement. She shared her valuable insights and experiences, motivating the students to strive for excellence.
A captivating aerobics performance added vibrancy to the ceremony. A mesmerizing yoga spectacle showcased the students' discipline and fitness.
Dr. Prem Kumar, Manager in his speech also emphasized the significance of hard work, dedication, and the pursuit of excellence in all spheres of life.
A heartfelt vote of thanks concluded the ceremony, followed by the National Anthem.
Sports’ Achievements at Grand Commendation Ceremony
BCM School Chandigarh Road is organizing ‘Leadership Training Camp’ for the newly selected Students’ Council members for the academic session 2024-25. The event commenced with a grand opening ceremony and shall continue from 14 March to 23 March 2024 wherein the participants shall be provided with intensive training by a team of competent teachers for 4 hours daily from 8 am to 12 pm followed by community lunch.
The camp aims at fortifying students’ skills of head, heart, limbs and gut. The students will also be briefed about their roles and responsibilities as council members. On completion of the training, the students shall develop officer-like qualities which will enable them to perform their duties efficiently.
The camp offers an opportunity to partake in activities like athletics, yoga, life skills, group discussions, declamations, mathematical reasoning, mental aptitude, table manners, etc.
The Principal Mr. DP Guleria while addressing the students said, “Every child is born with some unique talent yet to put that talent into practice takes a lot of hard work. At BCM School we are putting that extra amount of hard work to groom the students in the fields of their interest.

In a soul-stirring havan ceremony at the Yagyashala, our Class XII aspirants sought divine blessings for their upcoming AISSSE Board Exams. The air resonated with sacred chants, and the fragrance of holy fire filled the atmosphere with a divine ambience as students poured their offerings.
Students expressed heartfelt gratitude to the School Management Committee, Principal, and teachers for their invaluable contributions to her personal growth.

Our students recently participated in an exhilarating interschool AR/VR E Gaming Carnival held at the prestigious MBCIE university. The event featured multiple rounds and diverse activities aimed at fostering technological innovation and gaming prowess among participating schools. Event Structure: The carnival consisted of Round 0, Round 1, Round 2, and a final round where our students engaged in intense AR/VR gaming battles against teams from other schools. This structure added layers of competition, allowing participants to showcase their skills progressively. *Activities:* 1. Photo Booth: Students enjoyed capturing memorable moments in the immersive atmosphere, enhancing the overall experience. 2. Escape Room: The challenging Escape Room activity tested participants' problem-solving abilities within the AR/VR realm. 3. AI Exhibit: An informative and interactive exhibit showcasing the latest advancements in artificial intelligence captured the interest of our students. 4. Gaming Competition: The core of the carnival, where teams battled it out in intense AR/VR gaming sessions, demonstrating both skill and strategy. 5. Magic Mirror: A unique experience that combined technology with entertainment, offering an intriguing perspective on augmented reality. Rewards: The ultimate prize awaited the winners of the gaming competition's final round – a coveted trophy symbolizing their triumph in the immersive gaming world. Interschool AR/VR E Gaming Carnival at MBCIE University
To provide them some relaxing and refreshing moments away from the regular classroom teaching, a Magic Show was organized for the students of classes 2nd to 8th . Students were amazed to see the magician donning a black hat with a magic wand. They felt exhilarated to see a number of staged magic tricks that were seemingly impossible for them to believe. The magician used natural and known objects to make the tricks real and interesting and involved the children also while performing them that proved a hands-on experience for them.
Magic not only brings wonder to the world but also a grin on the faces of children.

On the occasion of Constitution Day, observed on the 26th of November to honor the adoption of the Constitution of India, BCM School orchestrated a series of enlightening activities. These endeavors were meticulously designed to underscore and reaffirm the profound values and principles embedded in our constitution.
The commemorative celebrations were marked by various engaging events, with students actively participating in activities aimed at deepening their understanding of this foundational document. A notable highlight included the collective reading of the preamble, symbolizing a collective commitment to the ideals enshrined within.
The intellectual vigor of the students was further ignited through a constitutional quiz, where they showcased their knowledge and comprehension of the guiding principles that shape our nation. Additionally, a captivating PowerPoint presentation was employed as a pedagogical tool, imparting insightful information about the constitution, ensuring that the essence of this vital document was effectively communicated to the student body.

On the occasion of Dussehra, Arth Sahit Ramayan Chaupai Recitation was organised for classes VI to VIII. Students filled the aura with spirituality and devotion through their presentation.

A fun filled literary based ‘Book Week’ was celebrated from Nov. 20 to Nov. 24, 2023. There were various activities to enhance the creative and scholastic skills of chilldren in this week. All the students participated enthusiastically in different activities organized during the week like Newspaper Reading, Book Mark and Book Jacket Making, Book Review Writing and Budding Authors. Students of class IV penned down review on their fovourite books. The week concluded with the final round of Story Telling Competition for class III and V.

November 16 is commemorated as Martyrdom Day of Shaheed Kartar Singh Sarabha, who was born and brought up in the Ludhiana district. He was one of the youngest martyr in the country, who attained martyrdom at the age of 19 years.
Students of VI to VIII were acquainted with his life and role in freedom struggle through video presentations. Later, they paid tribute to the martyr by writing his biography.

British Council International Activity on the theme “Food: The Fuel of Our Life” was organized for the students of class II. The activity aimed at enhancing students’ curiosity beyond national boundaries. In phase -I “Cuisine: India Vs other countries” each section was assigned a different country and all the students in different sections prepared small charts depicting the basic ingredients used to prepare food in India vs those of the assigned country. Little learners expanded their vocabulary by learning the names of some popular dishes from different countries. In Phase – II “I Know, You Know = We Know” some elected students shared their knowledge about the food habits of different countries with their peers.
