TALENT SHOW REPORT
To groom and give platform to the hidden qualities of the students ,our school organised ‘Talent show ‘ on April 20,2019 in the auditorium for the students of class IX.For X class ,it was conducted on 22 April , 2019.Students exhibited their talent through plethora of activities i.e. Dancing ,PPT Making ,Dramatics ,art and music etc. It was ensured that each participant got ample time to showcase their talents to the best of their capabilities. Overall, the show was conducted smoothly and successfully.

A book is a dream that we hold in our hand
Books are the gateway between the past and present or future. For celebrating the importance of books a plethora of activities were conducted on the World Book Day in middle wing. First, the teachers explained students the importance of books and the role played by books in one’s life. Later, they participated in Poetry writing, Essay Writing and Declamation which they cherished a lot. They expressed their thoughts on Books – My best friend.

WORLD BOOK DAY II MIDDLE WING II
BCM School Chd. Road endeavors to see that the students inculcate the good human values of appreciating the importance of all the National days and festivals. Baisakhi and Ambedkar jayanti was celebrated with the same spirit. In a special assembly students were explained that Ambedkar Jayanti is celebrated to mark the birth anniversary of Late Dr. B. R. Ambedkar who wrote the Constitution of our country. They were also made aware that Baisakhi is the harvest festival of our country but it is celebrated especially in Punjab and Haryana. Children sang melodious songs and recited lovely poems on this occasion. The teachers also made thestudents aware about the teachings of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar and his contribution in the development of the country. Students penned down Fundamental rights and duties of any citizen of India on decorated sheets. Beautiful bio-sketches of Dr. B.R.Ambedkar were articulated. Principal Mr. D.P. Guleria appreciated the efforts of the students and motivated them to respect the rich culture of our country.
BAISAKHI & AMBEDKAR JAYANTI CELEBRATION|| Primary & Middle Wing|| 12th April,2019
Since ages the students had been fervently praying to almighty for removal of back breaking heavy loads of school bags and nagging demands of parents to finish homework first before even thinking of any relaxation or recreation. Credit goes to Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) for taking a directive following which BCM School, Chandigarh Road has implemented ‘No Bag No Homework’ policy till Class III. Books and notebooks are kept in the school in custody of the Class teacher and sent to parents twice a week for their consideration. Students only bring their lunch box, Water bottle, School Almanac and a three-in-one note book in a small sachet. No home work is assigned formally in Classes I to III. In classes IV to VIII 50% of the total books and notebooks are kept in the school and the rest are brought by the students according to a strictly followed timetable. The initiative shall definitely waiver the burden on fragile backs of the young. Principal Mr. D.P.Guleria stated that this exemption in bag load and workload is aimed at liberating the children from unnecessary burden and allowing them to grow, learn & flourish freely.

World Health Day was celebrated by students of BCM School, Chandigarh Road, Ludhiana. This day is observed to mark the founding of WHO. Various activities were organized in the school to highlight the significance of the issue of good health and well-being. The activities included a special Morning Assembly in which speeches were delivered on topics like Health and Hygiene, Mental Health and junk food vs. healthy food. The school counselor conducted a seminar for students of classes IV and V. The topic of the seminar was “Being Healthy”. Students were made acquainted about physical, mental and emotional health through a PPT. Students took a pledge to eat healthy and stay healthy. Health club members demonstrated healthy food habits and also gave tips on personal hygiene. Students relished healthy sprouts and vegetable sandwiches during their fruit break. It was a unique experience to come together for one day to promote actions that can improve our health. The students celebrated it with great aplomb by enhancing awareness about it.

Kindergarten block of BCM School Chandigarh organized plethora of activities to celebrate Earth Day. Where the kids of Nur. enjoyed pasting the picture of earth of on art sheet, the students of L.K.G kids did the activity by tearing and pasting the paper in the picture of the earth. Kids of U.K.G celebrated the day by pasting the pictures of tree in their art books. Globe was shown in all the classes by the class teachers while giving the message of save trees to save mother earth and stop using polythene bags to keep earth healthy. Children also tied rakhiees to the trees as a vow to take care of them.

Creative Writing competition was held on Saturday 6 April, 2019 in the zero period in the classes IX & X. Students showed remarkable creativity while presenting posters, they wrote articles and poems of different genres. They were judged on the basis of novelty, decency and authencity.Overall it was a good opportunity to awaken the writers within them.

BCM Kindergarten organised a fresher’s party suitably titled ‘Welcome Fiesta’ for the kids of Nursery. Tiny tots in their colourful attires landed vibrancy to the campus. They tapped their feet on the peppy songs and enjoyed their favourite food items in the company of their friends. To make the day all the more special for the little BCMites teachers gave them masks of different cartoon characters and adorned them with different fascinating titles eg. Ms Elegant , Mr. Handsome , Ms Adorable etc.

India - being a cradle of civilizations - has plenty to offer in the form of numerous historic monuments dotting the country’s landscape. April 18 is observed as World Heritage Day every year to celebrate and promote the cultural heritage across the world. BCM School Sec32 A celebrated this day with great splendour. Students of classes IV to VIII made remarkable collages on different heritage sites of India. They were made aware about the rich heritage of India through Power point Presentation. A special speech on the topic was delivered by the class teachers. The School Principal Mr. D.P. Guleria motivated the students by saying that our students are the identity of our nation and our heritage is a part of our identity. We should take step to conserve our boundless heritage.
WORLD HERITAGE DAY
The students of class VII were given a lecture on how they can awaken the possibility to reflect their capacity to express their ideas, feelings, vision or ideals through different creative forms such as art, music, theatre, writing etc. the students learned how their personality transforms and develop through this possibility on 9th April,2019. They also got an insight onto the knowledge possibility of “working with collective intelligence”. They learned to awaken their possibility to create and access knowledge which gets “co-created” in a collective by working with people. On 18th April,2019 The students of class VII were discussed about the possibility to represent our capacity to learn lifelong, continuously, all the time and also how to discover the next knowledge possibility of infinite curiosity, infinite seeking of knowledge, of infinite wonder at the joys and mysteries of creation.

‘Nobody is empty, everyone has a deposit of talent within and talent hunt is one such competition to bring out the best in students. Keeping this in mind, Inter house talent Hunt was organised in the middle wing. Students showcased their talent in Declamation, Portrait Making, Biography writing and singing. Brimming with confidence, the students put up a great show and gave each other a tough competition. In Biography Writing Kritisha of Ravi house, in Portrait Making Bhawya of Yamuna house, In Declamation Lakshay of Satluj House and in singing students of Yamuna house bagged the first position. Overall, Yamuna house was declared as the winning house for showcasing astonishing talent in all the activities. The Principal blessed the students for showing excellent hidden talent and also motivated them to adopt the spirit of healthy competition.
INTER HOUSE TALENT HUNT COMPETITION II MIDDLE WING II
To introduce tiny tots with the vivid & rich culture of Punjab, Baisakhi festival was celebrated with great fervor in BCM Kindergarten Chandigarh Road. Little BCMites enthusiastically took part in the plethora of activities planned for the day. Kids of UKG drew a picture of ‘Dhol’ and filled the color in that. Students of LKG clad in Punjabi attires walked on the ramp and competed with their peers for the coveted titles i.e “ Sohna Gabru “ & Sohni Mutiyaar’’. The winners received the trophies & participants received books as appreciation for their efforts. Kids of Nursery & UKG danced on the Punjabi numbers and got colored in the hue of this festival. Principal Mr. D.P. Guleria wished everybody a very happy Baisakhi and said that celebration of such festivals is required to keep our culture alive.

Punjabi linguistic club took the initiative of conducting plays, poster making .poem recitation ,singing and declamation competitions in their respective periods in the classes of IX & Open invitation was given to students to express their views in a creative and artistic way on ‘Jallianwala Bagh massacre and the ‘joy of farmers during the harvesting of wheat.’

Healthy mind lives in a healthy body and to spread awareness among the little BCMites to follow healthy habits, BCM Kindergarten celebrated ‘World Health Day”. On the day kids brought healthy food in the form of salad and fruit chaat. Teachers also told the children about the benefits of eating fruits & vegetables and playing outdoor games. Through different stories tiny tots were also made aware of the harmful effects of eating junk food.

World Health Day is a global health awareness day celebrated every year under the sponsorship of the World Health Organization (WHO). Students of BCM School Chandigarh Road celebrated this day with great enthusiasm. Students of class VI and VII participated in the interactive session on WASH. WASH stands for ‘Water, Sanitation and Hygiene.’ The session includes the importance of water along with ways to maintain personal and public hygiene. Debate in class VIII was also conducted on the topic Allopathic medicines vs. Home Remedies where they discussed the effects and side effects of both the ways. Students showed their zeal by participating actively in both the activities and made promise to themselves to follow healthy routine and maintain hygiene.

BCM Kindergarten Chandigarh Road organised an ‘Orientation Programme on Parenting-An Art’ for the new entrants of Nur & LKG on 25th, 27th & 28th March 2019. Headmistress Ms. Pragati Kapoor addressed the audience and acquainted them with school rules, academic schedule & co-curricular activities done in the KG Section. School counsellor, Ms. Shreya Sarkar gave wonderful tips to the parents on healthy parenting, helping their children being independent and dealing with separation anxiety etc. After that there was an open interactive session-with Principal Mr. D.P. Guleria.

On 26, March 2019 the KG Section of BCM School Chandigarh Road organized ‘Vedic Hawan’ and adorned spiritual ambience with the chanting of sacred mantras to welcome the new entrants of Nursery. Ms.Samita Munjal ,members of the managing committee, Principal Mr D.P Guleria, ,Principals of sister concerns, teachers & parents sought the blessings of the Almighty for the tiny tots on their first step in the journey of education . The students of Nursery, L.KG & UKG stole the show by exhibiting exemplary articulatory skills. They not only welcomed the guests but also told the importance of mantras , gave the glimpses of school with PPT, recited mantras of shanti path, sang bhajan & purposed the vote of thanks. The Hawan concluded with the distribution of prasad & introduction of the parents and students with their respective class teacher.

Kids of UKG of BCM Kindergarten Chandigarh road Ludhiana donned their chef caps to exhibit their skills in ‘Cooking Without Fire’. Children participated with full zeal and enthusiasm. Artefacts and food items displayed in their respective classrooms in the artistic style were a visual treat. In this activity gave the kids a sense of accomplishment & self- confidence.
COOKING WITHOUT FIRE ACTIVITY || UKG ||
Calligraphy is known as an art of stylish hand writing. On 16th February 2019 Calligraphy competition was organized in BCM Kindergarten Chandigarh Road for the students of Nursery. 50 short listed students from each class competed with each other. The judgement was done on the basis of style of writing alphabets & neatness. Winners were given the prizes by the Headmistress of school.
CALLIGRAPHY COMPETITION || NURSERY ||
February 14, 2019 was a black day in the history of our country when at least 45 CRPF Jawans were killed in a terror attack in Pulwama district in Jammu and Kashmir. It was the deadliest attack ever happened in Kashmir. To pay tribute to the martyrs a two minutes Silence Prayer was observed. Students showcased their grief and anger through posters, slogans and face paintings. They offered their homage to the brave soldiers and also wished for the speedy recovery for the injured. May God give strength to the grief stricken families and may the brave heroes of Indian Army rest in peace.
A TRIBUTE TO PULWAMA MARTYRS
BCM Kindergarten Chandigarh Road organized 7th Annual Athletic Meet for the students of LKG in which more than 400 students took part. The tiny tots on each day won the appreciations of the audience by marching together gracefully & holding different color flags. The cultural items to embellish the events on different days captivated the hearts of the parents acting as audience. The tastefully decorated ground was a feast to the eyes of beholders. The children enthusiastically took part in the different games planned for the day. The winners & participants were honored with the medals. Principal Mr. D.P Guleria appreciated the efforts of the students and the teachers.

Show & tell aims to teach young students about public speaking skills & thereby building their confidence too. Show & tell competition was organized in BCM Kindergarten Chandigarh road. In this competition kids came with a variety of objects like Car, Plants, Save water, Healthy food & junk food , Save girl child etc. and elaborated about the object with lot of confidence, facial expressions & voice modulations Mrs Pragati Kapoor Headmistress of the school gave away the prizes to the winners & book were given to the participants as a souvenir.

To stimulate the knowledge and to foster a healthy competition among the little BCMites, BCM Kindergarten Chandigarh Road organized a ‘Quiz Contest’ for the students of Nursery class. The four teams comprising of 3 students each duly titled Spiderman, Pokemon, Chotta Bheem, Mickey Mouse competed with each other. The quiz was divided in 8 rounds i.e. General Awareness, Whose Who, Audio-visual Round, Make the connection round etc. They out performed each other to become the winners. The audience comprising of parents were elated to see their child’s performance. Trophies were given to the winners and books were given to the participants by the Headmistress. Principal, Mr. D.P Guleria appreciated the efforts of the kids and the teachers. He said that such type of competitions not only enhance the mental horizon of the kids but also infuse confidence in them.
