SHOW & TELL COMPETITION || UKG ||

 To improve communication & descriptive skills of children a “Show and Tell” competition was organized in BCM Kindergarten Chandigarh Road for class UKG on 16th May 2019. Kids exhibited their confidence and articulation skills while speaking on the topics like-save trees, books, save earth, clock, paytm etc. Ms Ashmeen Jaiswal & Ms Anshuman Shoori (parent of the student)   judged the competition. The audience comprising of the parents were happy to see their kids performing on the stage.  The winners of the competition were awarded with certificates & books.

MANGO PARTY || KG ||

It was a sweet & juicy morning for the tiny tots of BCM KG Section as the little ones of NUR, LKG & UKG celebrated ‘Mango Party’ and expressed their love for the king of fruits with sheer delight.  During the lunch time, children shared & relished the chopped mango they had brought in their fruit tiffin. Kids also recited rhymes on “Mango”. Teachers also laid stress on the benefits of eating mangoes during “Mango Party.”

INTER HOUSE COMPETITION OF VEDIC MANTRA & INTER CLASS COMPETITION OF GOLDEN RULES OF ARYA SAMAJ || PRIMARY WING||

BCM School is living legacy of the ideals of the great visionary Maharishi Dayanand Saraswati, the founder of Arya Samaj. Carrying forward this vision of Maharishi , Lala Bahadur Chand Munjal, Mahatma Satyanand ji Munjal believed and followed Arya Samaj religiously. To celebrate forthcoming birth anniversary of Mahatmaji, various comp. will be conducted. A competition of reciting Golden Rules of Arya Samaj was conducted for class I to III.

In another comp. which was an Inter house comp. students of all the four houses participated and recited Vedic Mantras with their meanings

ENGLISH RHYME RECITATION COMPETITION|| LKG ||

 Rhymes have an enormous educational value for the kids. Early learning of rhymes & rhythmic expressions enhance the phonetic skills of the toddlers.  Keeping this in mind BCM School Chandigarh Road organized ‘English Rhyme Recitation’ for the students of LKG. This competition provided the children an opportunity to exhibit their talent and confidence. The participants chose a variety of topics for their recitation like ‘Save Nature’, Say no to ‘Polybags’, Save girl child, Pollution, Save Green Trees etc. and gave a good visual treat by the eye catching props. The preliminary round was conducted by the class teachers in their respective classrooms and the best performers were selected for the final round. Ms Shailja & MS Anupama shoor (parents of the students) judged the competition. The audience comprising of the parents of the participants were happy to see their kids performing on the stage.  The winners were given certificates &books were given to the participants by the Headmistress.

COUNSELLING SESSION ON PEER PRESSURE

To guide the students deal effectively with peer pressure, a counselling session was conducted for the students of X standard on 16 May, 2019 at 1:20 pm in the Mata Thakur Devi Hall. A PowerPoint presentation of 21 slides was shown to students giving them some effective practical tips on positive as well as negative peer pressure. It was presided over by Mrs. Renu Gupta.Overall it was knowledgeable and enriching experience.

INTER HOUSE POEM RECITATION COMPETITION || PRIMARY WING ||

Poetry Recitation is a mode of expression, a medium to reflect the latent talents of the young ones. An Inter House Poem Recitation Comp. was conducted for the students of classes I to V. This was the third and final round. The theme for classes I & II was  ‘’ MAA’’  and for classes III to V it was “Friendship”. It was heart  warming to see amazing performances of the students which indeed was a result of hours of practice. All the students participated enthusiastically

U-14 BASEBALL STATE CHAMPIONSHIP II MIDDLE WING II

Under 14 Baseball State Championship was held on 14 & 15 May at Government girls Senior secondary School in Village Gill, Ludhiana. Bhoomi Kuniyal of VIII-F and Ansh Yadav of VIII-G participated in this event and bagged gold medal.

CELEBRATION OF NATIONAL TECHNOLOGY DAY || PRIMARY & MIDDLE WING|| 10th MAY,2019

To mark National Technology Day, members of I.T. Club of BCM School, Chandigarh Road participated in an I.T. Quiz, PPT Show and Declamation. Students from classes III to V participated in IT Quiz. The participants were well prepared and participated enthusiastically. The “Micro Computer Team” stood first. The PPT Show for classes VI and VIII was based on the theme “New Technologies and their benefits”. Each participant explained the PPT and presented it in a different way. The audience students were amazed to see the advancements of technology explained in the PPts. Students of class VII participated in a declamation contest on the topic “ Technology – “ A boon or a bane “. Samridhi of class VII-A bagged Ist position whereas Pulkita of VII D and Sreya of VII H stood IInd and IIIrd respectively.

CELEBRATION OF UNCONDITIONAL LOVE

A Mother is she who can take the place of all others, but whose place no one else can take”

She is the emotional backbone of the family, who has the magic touch to heal all wounds and make all things beautiful. Students of BCM School Sec 32 A celebrated this day with aplomb. A plethora of activities was conducted to honour motherhood, maternal bonds and the influence of mothers in our lives. Students made beautiful greeting cards and wrote ‘Letters of Love’ for their mothers. They recited beautiful poems and express their love and gratitude towards their mothers in declamation competition. Over all, it was a fun filled day for the students as they acknowledge their mothers’ unconditional love and efforts. The Principal Mr. D.P. Guleria congratulated the participants and encourage them to keep up the good work and to pursue their dreams.

MOTHER’S DAY CELEBRATION

Mother’s day was celebrated under the project –National Project Scheme –Women empowerment. Punjabi Declamation Competition was conducted in the auditorium where students from IX & X classes participated. The topic of the declamation was Mother’s Love, Relations. Students expressed heartfelt gratitude with hearts swelled with love for their mothers and expressed deep emotions and reverence. Overall, it was a well organised event.

MOTHER'S DAY CELEBRATED ||KG||

The day that recognizes the essence of a mother was celebrated in high spirits and merriment in the KG Wing of BCM School Chandigarh Road. Teachers made an earnest effort to instill the importance of mother in a child’s life through narration of stories, recitation of rhymes and singing of songs depicting love of child for his mother. The lilltle BCMites also made beautiful cards to give it to their mother on the special day. Heart-warming feelings filled the air with intimacy, gratitude, appreciation and acknowledgement All in all it was an enjoyable and memorable day for each and every child which left an indubitable mark on the innocent hearts.

WORLD BIRDS DAY CELEBRATED || KG ||

The KG wing of BCM School celebrated World Bird Day with a lot of enthusiasm .The well decorated corner in the park with bird houses, cut outs of birds & nests welcomed the kids. The kids in classes were made aware of the beauty that birds add of our life and the need of birds. Each class was one by one taken to the well decorated park where they poured water in bowls kept for birds & fed birds with the grains. Principal Mr D.P. Guleria expressed that keeping the extinction of certain species of birds and animals in mind it has really become a dire need of the hour that love for flora and fauna should be kindled in the tender minds of young ones.

POEM RECITATION BY ENGLISH ARTICULATORS’ CLUB

With an objective to enhance the poem recitation Skills of the students and to celebrate Mothers’ Day, English Articulators’ Club organised Poem Recitation for the students of XI and XII in which students recited emotional and touching poems with proper rhythm, pause, rhyme etc. Mrs Sangeeta Jain and Mrs. Meenu Sachdeva were the judges of the competition. Navnoor Kaur of XI NM B won the competition.

AWARENESS RALLY

540 students from classes XI & XII of Commerce & Humanities Streams, NCC cadets accompanied by 20 teachers from BCM School Chandigarh Road took upon the responsibility of sensitizing the public for sure and sensible voting.

The rally was flagged off from the school premises at 8:30 am by the school Principal Mr. D.P.Guleria. The students and teachers marched in procession holding banners and placards raising slogans in favor of executing one’s right to vote. The rally walked out in Sector 32 and then proceeded towards Vishal Mega Mart. There at Public Square the Rally converted into a gathering and the students conveyed the message to the Public through street plays and speeches.

WORLD RED CROSS DAY II PRIMARY & MIDDLE WINGII

Red Cross Day was celebrated at BCM School Sec 32 Ludhiana. The day is an annual celebration of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement. A plethora of activities was conducted in classes I to VIII to commemorate this day. Students of health Club performed an enactment on “Provide the First- aid and be a Hero”. A special lecture and ppt show was organised for the students to make them aware about the importance of the day, functioning of Red Cross society and ways of giving First aid. Students’ queries regarding First- aid were also cleared. The Principal Mr. D.P. Guleria motivated the students by saying that the day highlights the importance of volunteers who have dedicated their life to help people in need. We should also do our part and try to help others. This is the only way in which we can save Humanity.

LAUGHTER DAY CELEBRATED || KG ||

The peals of laughter echoed loud in the campus of BCM School . The toddlers of KG Section celebrated ‘World Laughter Day’. The teachers in their respective classes brought smiles on the faces of their students with laughter exercises. They also acquainted the children with the benefits of laughing through different stories. Children made smiles with the help of colorful paper.  Principal Mr.DP Guleria said that each day should be celebrated as laughter day as in today’s stressful life laughter can only relax us.

BCM COMMEMORATED BIRTH ANNIVERSARY OF SIR WILLIAM SHAKESPEARE ||SECONDARY WING||

 

To acknowledge excellence of Sir William Shakespeare in the field of poetry and to mark his birth anniversary, BCM SCHOOL Chandigarh Road organised poem recitation Competition for classes IX & X on 6 May ,2019 .Exuberant participants show cased their talent through various poems written by Sir William Shakespeare. Judgement was based on the areas like voice modulation, presentation, intonation etc.Vanshika of X-F secured first position .Poorvi of IX –F bagged second position and Prathana of IX- H was adjusted as third position holder in the competition. Overall, the competition was a success.

“Know Disaster, No Disaster” II MIDDLE WING II

As the motto suggests, the members of the disaster management club were showcased the significance of disaster management and were presented the various essential factors. The club that consists of 50 students from classes 6 to 8 were also made aware of the various risk factors associated with lack of preparation during and after any natural or man-made disaster and a few affirmations were also discussed with the students about the preventive measures that  need to monitor in any emergency situation.

LABOUR DAY CELEBRATED || KG ||

‘Labour Day’ was celebrated in BCM Kindergarten Chandigarh Road with full aplomb. Kids made beautiful cards and presented them as a mark of respect to all the class four employees. In a small get together on the end of the day, class four employees presented dance and sang songs. The celebrations in the campus were an expression of gratitude to the support staff for their spirit to provide comfort to one and all. Principal, D.P. Guleria was all praise for the tireless service of the class four staff and congratulated them on this special day.

CELEBRATION OF LABOUR DAY

Labour Day was celebrated with full aplomb at BCM School, Chandigarh Road. School campus wore a festive look with gleeful faces and streams of Thank you cards, all set to celebrate the unsung pillars of the school. A special assembly inaugurated the day wherein students made everyone acquainted of the importance of the day and also thanked all the helpers of the school for their support and dedication. 
They were acknowledged for their contributions and irreplaceable inputs for the welfare of the school.  Students were motivated to respect all such people without whose help, life would not be that easy. The class IV employees were taken aback by the show of affection and numerous expressions of gratitude. Students showcased their feelings by presenting beautifully handmade cards to the support staff.  Principal D.P.Guleria acknowledged the contributions of the work force of the school and lauded their ceaseless efforts for the welfare of the students.

COLORING COMPETITION ||LKG ||

 Colors are a beautiful way to express the feelings. Children love playing with colors and putting them on canvas. To enable the LKG students to express the tenderness of their heart through colors BCM Kindergarten Chandigarh Road organized Coloring Competition. Kids filled the colors in the given picture. To ignite the love for books in the tender hearts of young BCMites, World Book Day was celebrated with full vigor and enthusiasm in the KG Section of BCM School on 23rd April 2019 .The children were told about the importance of books in the classrooms by the clsss teachers. They also shared that books are our best friends and reading books is a wonderful hobby.

World Book Day is organized by UNESCO every year to offer a literal feast for ardent book lovers across the world. The day is observed with a lot of excitement to promote good reading habits among kids. To mark the celebration of World Book Day, Articulators Club, BCM School, Chandigarh Road organized various activities. The celebrations began with the morning assembly where students explained the history and importance of the day, along with some tips, to maintain books and notebooks. To enhance the students’ interest in extra reading, a plethora of activities was conducted which included Newspaper Reading and Talk Show on “My Favourite Book”. A creative writing competition was organized, wherein students penned down beautiful Poetry, Essays and Book Reviews. A Declamation contest on “Books – My Best Friend” was also conducted. Principal Mr. D.P.Guleria said habit of reading books should be inculcated at the very primary stage and for the same purpose, libraries are an essential component of our school’s teaching learning system and we are committed to provide the best books to our students.

TALENT SHOW REPORT

To groom and give platform to the hidden qualities of the students ,our school organised ‘Talent show ‘ on April 20,2019 in the auditorium for the students of class IX.For X class ,it was conducted on 22 April , 2019.Students exhibited their talent through plethora of activities i.e. Dancing ,PPT Making ,Dramatics ,art and music etc. It was ensured that each participant got ample time to showcase their talents to the best of their capabilities. Overall, the show was conducted smoothly and successfully.

A book is a dream that we hold in our hand

Books are the gateway between the past and present or future. For celebrating the importance of books a plethora of activities were conducted on the World Book Day in middle wing. First, the teachers explained students the importance of books and the role played by books in one’s life. Later, they participated in Poetry writing, Essay Writing and Declamation which they cherished a lot. They expressed their thoughts on Books – My best friend.

BAISAKHI & AMBEDKAR JAYANTI CELEBRATION|| Primary & Middle Wing|| 12th April,2019

BCM School Chd. Road endeavors to see that the students inculcate the good human values of appreciating the importance of all the National days and festivals. Baisakhi and Ambedkar jayanti was celebrated with the same spirit. In a special assembly students were explained that Ambedkar Jayanti is celebrated to mark the birth anniversary of Late Dr. B. R. Ambedkar who wrote the Constitution of our country. They were also made aware that Baisakhi is the harvest festival of our country but it is celebrated especially in Punjab and Haryana. Children sang melodious songs and recited lovely poems on this occasion. The teachers also made thestudents  aware about the teachings of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar and his contribution in the development of the country. Students penned down Fundamental rights and duties of any citizen of India on decorated sheets. Beautiful bio-sketches of Dr. B.R.Ambedkar were articulated. Principal Mr. D.P. Guleria appreciated the efforts of the students and motivated them to respect the rich culture of our country.
