The young buds of UKG were thrilled to be a part of vibrant and energizing ‘Solo Dance Competition’ organized on July 25, 2019. Participants came in colorful attires and tapped their feet on the melodious tunes. The audience comprising of the parents of the participants were left spellbound with the energetic moves of the contestants. The happiness in the hearts of participants was amply evident on the faces of the participants. The winners of the competition were given certificates and books were given as souvenir to the participants. Mr. D.P. Guleria, Principal of school appreciated the efforts of the students and congratulated the winners.

Fun filled activities for the kids in school not only give a break from the mundane routine but also bring children close to each other. Keeping the same in mind ‘Splash Bash’-A pool Party was organized in BCM Kindergarten Chandigarh Road for the students of LKG & UKG. The fun, frolic and excitement started as soon as the little ones arrived dressed in their colorful swimming costumes. Different swings and colorful umbrellas gave a rich ambience to the venue of the party. The kids had splashes of laughter while enjoying in the swimming pools. The day ended with lots of fun.

To salute the real heroes of the Nation and inspire the students for a patriotic cause, Students of BCM School Sec 32 A celebrated Kargil Victory Day. A special assembly was conducted to pay their heartfelt homage to the martyrs of Indian Army, BSF and other troops who sacrificed their lives and won the war at Kargil. It was done with a view. Students of primary wing sang a gallant song and delivered a speech on the importance of this day to instil the patriotic feeling amongst students. Students of middle wing wrote Essay on “Remembering the Brave Heroes” and recited beautiful poems depicting moment of pride, courage and sacrifice shown by our Army Men and pledged to serve the Nation in every possible manner. School Principal Mr. D.P. Guleria appreciated the efforts put in by the students. He urged the students to remember the sacrifice of the great martyrs made for our protection and remarked that we should not take our freedom for granted, rather should strive every day to make India worthy of the invaluable sacrifice made by the Kargil Heroes.
KARGIL VICTORY DAY II MIDDLE & PRIMARY WING II
To commemorate and pay homage to the sacrifices paid by our home brave soldiers during the Kargil war in 1999, our school celebrated Kargil Victory Day on 26 July, 2019.
Speeches were given by the students of class X in the Assembly .The aim was to inculcate the spirit of bravery, courage and the sense of self-respect and putting the needs of others ahead of one’s own. The students participated with great zeal and enthusiasm.

Clay Modelling helps to develop eye-hand coordination. It not only provides children a lot of fun and excitement but also helps in promoting their talent. An intersection Clay Modelling Competition was organized for the students of LKG in the KG Section of BCM School Chd Rd. Ludhiana. 20 students from different sections showed their skill in the art of clay modeling. The motive behind this competition was to stimulate the imagination of the children and enable them to give it a better shape. There was a lot of gaiety & enthusiasm among the participants.

Bcm School Conducted Inter House Scientific Extravaganza
“Science is the process that takes us from confusion to understanding.”
Science is a subject which is completely focused on the facts and evidences concerning the natural and social world. It is a disciplined way of studying the natural world. To encourage students to look beyond their textual knowledge and to establish a relationship between theory and application of the learnt concepts, an inter-house science quiz was conducted for the students of classes vi-viii in BCM School Sec. 32 A. Students from all four houses –Ravi, Satluj, Beas, Yamuna— participated in it with great enthusiasm and vigour. Participants were divided into four teams after their selection in semi-finals. The rounds include General Awareness., Spellathon, Who I Am, Ecology Round and Rapid fire round which engaged the students for one hour. The students showcased their brilliance by rapidly answering the questions. At the end, Satluj House bagged the first position with maximum points. Principal Mr. D.P. Guleria congratulated the winners and also motivated them to take keen interest in all spheres of life. Overall the competition proved informative and inspiring to the students.

As the quote suggests, adolescence age is filled with psychological, social, and moral terrain and this transitional phase of growth and development between childhood and adulthood comes with some difficulties which the children need to get through with the support of their parents, teachers, mentors and friends. An orientation programme for the girls of class VI was conducted in the school Activity Hall by Ms. Shreya Sarkar (Student Counsellor, Middle Wing) on the topic “Understanding Puberty”. The students understood that puberty is a part of growing up and everyone goes through it, but not always at the same pace.
ORIENTATION ON " UNDERSTANDING PUBERTY" (MIDDLE WING)
Trees have been serving humanity since times immemorial. The very existence of man would not have been possible without flora and fauna. “If a tree is saved even at cost of one’s head, it’s worth it.” To make students cognizant about the prominence of trees and our environment Eco- Club of BCM Sr Sec School, Chandigarh Road , organized different activities. In Class I, a Fancy Dress Competition was conducted wherein students came dressed as trees and recited poems and gave thoughtful speeches on the topic “Save Trees”. Students of classes II and III brought plants in waste containers which was there summer vacation project. Students of Class IV prepared beautiful collages using dry leaves and flowers. In class V, Students made charts on Medicinal plants and understood the vast use of trees. Students participated in all the activities with great vehemence. They took a pledge to awake, arise and realize the need to save our ailing planet by planting more and more tress. Principal Mr. D.P. Guleria acclaimed the activities and motivated the students to protect the environment and thus the Mother Earth.
CELEBRATION OF VAN MAHOTSAV || PRIMARY WING ||
With the motive to generate love for nature in the tender minds and sensitize them towards the beauties of nature Tree Plantation Day was celebrated in the KG Section of BCM School Chd Rd. The school gardener helped the children in planting different saplings. Teachers acquainted the young ones with the names & parts of plants in the school garden. They enjoyed learning lesson of loving and caring the mother nature in the lap of nature.

“Tobacco Companies Kill their Best Customers and Once You Start; Its Hard to Stop…”
BCM School observed the World No Tobacco Day to highlight the health risks associated with the use of tobacco and implementation of policies to ban its consumption. To generate awareness on this issue, the students of classes VI and VII made a human logo of ‘No tobacco’ to ban tobacco products across the world. Students of Health Club delivered a speech on tobacco use in India, its effects on the nervous system, on our academics and social life and on our health. Principal Mr. D.P. Guleria told students that awareness and a conscious effort to stay away from tobacco products must be today’s youth’s mission and vision.

Cambridge English Qualifications are in-depth exams that make learning English enjoyable, effective and rewarding. It is an exam for school-age learners that help them to prepare for higher-level English language qualifications. Students of BCM School Sec 32A passed different levels of Cambridge Exam with flying colours. Students who got highest marks were felicitated with certificates in a special assembly.

Buddy group members enacted a short play based on drug addiction on 29 May,2019.. The play gives a loud and clear message that how drugs make a person cold hearted & emotionless and how his rational thinking is overpowered by the lust for drugs. This message was successfully conveyed by the impressive performance given by the students. The play was appreciated by the school Principal.

With an objective of developing culinary skills among students and to encourage in them a hospitable attitude towards their families, especially towards their mothers in kitchen,Interhouse cooking without Fire Competition was conducted for the classes of IX & X on May 27,2019.
Students participated enthusiastically and earned appreciation of Principal Sir and judges who enjoyed tempting snacks and drinks prepared by them.Beas House was the winner and Satluj House bagged the second position.

BCM kindergarten Chandigarh Road celebrated ‘Founder’s Day’ on 24th May with a special assembly to mark the 102nd birth anniversary of founder Mahatma Satyanand Munjal Ji. In the morning assembly students of UKG threw light on the achievements and life history of beloved Bauji. Kids also spoke ten rules of ‘Arya Samaj’ and performed Hawan. LKG kids filled colors in the pictures of flags of Arya samaj. The students wearing sashes and holding palcards with ‘OM’ written on them welcomed everbody.

Colours are a beautiful & delightful way to convey and communicate emotions & symbolize ideas. To teach colours and to make the tiny tots of Nursery understand the significance of colours in life BCM Kindergarten Chandigarh Road celebrated Colour’s Day on every Saturday in the month of April & May. On these days the children came dressed up in the colours meant for the day and brought fruits and eatables of same colour. The attires of the teachers and decoration in sync with the respective colour gave a vibrant ambiance to the campus.

Mahatma Satyanand Ji Munjal’s birthday is celebrated as Founder’s day. Students commemorated his 102nd birthday with aplomb. They participated in a plethora of activities. First they participated in Mass Hawan. They also made beautiful greeting cards, photo frames and photo hangings. Later on, their creativity was displayed in an exhibition on Mahatma Ji’s birthday.

Live Skype session was organized between the BCMites of classes XI and XII and the students of University of Queensland, Australia. They exchanged views regarding “Global War on terrorism “.Partner students in Australia veiled up the various policies of Australian government to protect their country from terrorism. Indeed it was a very knowledgeable session for the BCMites. It gave them a chance to widen up their horizons and it even instilled a sense of internationalism in school curriculum. International learning and knowledge propelled BCMites towards acceptance and understanding of an array of different cultural and community perspectives

A tray holding activity was conducted for the students of LKG to teach them the lesson of self-dependence and art of hospitality. The little ones were given training of holding a tray and offering a glass of water. Children really enjoyed the activity and felt confident about themselves.

International Day for Biological Diversity focuses on biodiversity as the foundation for our food and health.The day has been proclaimed to increase understanding and to spread awareness about biodiversity issues.Bridging the gap between books and biodiversity in a unique manner students of classes I to VIII of BCM School Sector 32 celebrated this day with poise. The day started with the Nature’s pledge where students took pledge to follow 5 R’s in the morning assembly. Later they participated in different activities like reduce, reuse and recycle activity, collage making and poster making on topic “Our Biodiversity, Our Food, Our Health”. They also went for nature walk to understand biodiversity in a better way. They focused on to spread knowledge and awareness about the dependency of food system, nutrition, health on biodiversity and on healthy ecosystems. Principal Mr. D.P. Guleria appreciated the students and told them to be more sensitive towards the environmental concerns.
INTERNATIONAL DAY FOR BIOLOGICAL DIVERSITY
‘’A good story can imbibe the right values in the most impressionable age.’’ Keeping the same in mind BCM kindergarten Chandigarh Road organised ‘Story Telling’ session for the kids of UKG from 15th May to 21st May. Mothers of students acted as the resource person & narrated the stories in a very interesting way while giving loud face expressions, interesting voice modulations & making use of appropriate props. The children found the session to be very interesting as they enacted certain characters and promptly answered the questions raised to them. The story while teaching a wonderful moral ‘let’s Live Healthy’ was indeed a great learning experience for the little BCMites.

BIO DIVERSITY DAY CELEBRATED BY BCM
Environment protection Club conducted a rally demonstrating the importance of “Clean and Green environment “with the main motive of sheltering the birds from the scorching heat in the summer. Pots were distributed among the people in the streets by the students to keep water for the birds. One street play was also conducted highlighting the adverse effects that pollution has on the ecosystem in today’s time .Practical solutions were given to people to cope up with these problems from the basic level.

Kids exhibited their confidence and articulation skills while speaking on the topics like-save trees, books, save earth, clock, paytm etc. Ms Ashmeen Jaiswal & Ms Anshuman Shoori (parent of the student) judged the competition. It was a sweet & juicy morning for the tiny tots of BCM KG Section as the little ones of NUR, LKG & UKG celebrated ‘Mango Party’ and expressed their love for the king of fruits with sheer delight. During the lunch time, children shared & relished the chopped mango they had brought in their fruit tiffin. Kids also recited rhymes on “Mango”. Teachers also laid stress on the benefits of eating mangoes during “Mango Party.”

Carrying forward this vision of Maharishi , Lala Bahadur Chand Munjal, Mahatma Satyanand ji Munjal believed and followed Arya Samaj religiously. To celebrate forthcoming birth anniversary of Mahatmaji, various comp. will be conducted. A competition of reciting Golden Rules of Arya Samaj was conducted for class I to III.

Rhymes have an enormous educational value for the kids. Early learning of rhymes & rhythmic expressions enhance the phonetic skills of the toddlers. Keeping this in mind BCM School Chandigarh Road organized ‘English Rhyme Recitation’ for the students of LKG. This competition provided the children an opportunity to exhibit their talent and confidence. The participants chose a variety of topics for their recitation like ‘Save Nature’, Say no to ‘Polybags’, Save girl child, Pollution, Save Green Trees etc. and gave a good visual treat by the eye catching props. The preliminary round was conducted by the class teachers in their respective classrooms and the best performers were selected for the final round. Ms Shailja & MS Anupama shoor (parents of the students) judged the competition. The audience comprising of the parents of the participants were happy to see their kids performing on the stage. The winners were given certificates &books were given to the participants by the Headmistress.

COUNSELLING SESSION ON PEER PRESSURE
To guide the students deal effectively with peer pressure, a counselling session was conducted for the students of X standard on 16 May, 2019 at 1:20 pm in the Mata Thakur Devi Hall. A PowerPoint presentation of 21 slides was shown to students giving them some effective practical tips on positive as well as negative peer pressure. It was presided over by Mrs. Renu Gupta.Overall it was knowledgeable and enriching experience.

Poetry Recitation is a mode of expression, a medium to reflect the latent talents of the young ones. An Inter House Poem Recitation Comp. was conducted for the students of classes I to V. This was the third and final round. The theme for classes I & II was ‘’ MAA’’ and for classes III to V it was “Friendship”. It was heart warming to see amazing performances of the students which indeed was a result of hours of practice. All the students participated enthusiastically
