Under the ‘Tu Mera Buddy’ campaign initiated by Punjab government. Slogan writing activity was conducted in the middle wing. In which students actively participated to highlight the ill effects of drugs. They showed their determination to create awareness among the students regarding the growing menace of Drug Abuse/Addiction and protective measures to curb its influence at personal and collective level.

To display the projects made by Fashion Studies Students, an exhibition was organized by Fashion Studies Club in the crush hall near senior secondary classes. Students displayed many items prepared by them which include – Tie & Dye Scarfs, Block Printing items, Dolls, Aprons, Pillow covers, frames, tray, Dupattas, handmade jewelry, table mats, bags, kurtas, items inspired from natural prints & animal skin, rubber bands, handkerchiefs and dresses. The parents showed interest and bought some of the items. The event went fruitful as the students gained experience from the presentation.

The Fine Arts Exhibition of Fine Arts students of Class XII was a grand show with more than 175 beautiful art works on display. Students’ creativity and skill were portrayed through the medium of art; Parents were very impressed with the artistry and efforts behind the exhibits. The students displayed work done throughout the year. Many Parents also came to appreciate the works put by the students. Students learnt the value of research work, organizational skills and team work when putting up such an event on a grand scale. Canvas on various themes such as Nature, Radha & Krishna, Music & Dance etc. ware exhibited showcasing their talent.
FINE ARTS EXPO || SENIOR SECONDARY WING ||
As per the guidelines of CBSE to promote Sathwik Aahar ,different activities were conducted through which the students of XI Com highlighted the importance of sathwik food and hazards of junk food ,to the students of Primary wing . A PowerPoint presentation was showcased which highlighted the different types of foods. Two skits and stand up comedy were also presented to show the inclination of the children for junk food. In the end, the students of both wings took a pledge to consume healthy and nutritious food, avoid junk food and spread awareness about the same.

World Aids Day observed annually on December 1st, is dedicated to raise awareness to the Aids pandemic caused by the spread of HIV infection. BCM School Chandigarh road observed this day by involving young students in the awareness campaign. A lecture session was conducted by the students of Health Club for the students of classes VI to VIII. Class teachers took the session with emphasis on HIV transmission, staging, stigma, prevention & treatment. The club actively participated in spreading awareness and believes that they have the ability to sensitize others about the deadly disease. School Principal Mr. D.P. Guleria also stated that people must be made aware about the fatal disease and its preventive measures.

As per the guidelines by Postal Department ‘Dhai Akhar Letter Writing’ Competition on the theme ‘Dear Bapu, you are immortal’ was organized. All the students have participated in envelope letter writing under 18 category. Students penned down their views on the ideals of Mahatma Gandhi. Best entries will be sent to The Chief Postmaster General for the National level competition.

Our honourable Prime Minister launched ‘Fit India Programme’ on August 31, 2019 on the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel to encourage people to inculcate physical activity and sports in their everyday lives and daily routine. Keeping his vision in mind, CBSE has decided to celebrate ‘Fit India School Week’ starting from November 25 to November 30, 2019. Following the line, a poster making activity on the topic Fit Body, Fit Mind & Fit environment was conducted in middle wing. Students enthusiastically participated in the activity and displayed their creative bent in their breath taking posters. The activity aims to develop Sports quotient among all the students to achieve a healthy lifestyle.

BCM School in collaboration with 19th Punjab Battalion NCC Ludhiana celebrated National Cadet Corps (NCC) day to show the gratitude to the great men who struggle day and night for the well-being of the countrymen. Around 100 NCC students took pledge to uphold the unity of the nation. They also vowed to be disciplined and responsible citizens of the nation and undertake positive community service in the spirit of selflessness. The significance of each colour in the NCC flag was also amplified to the students. Colour red represents the army, deep blue represents the navy and sky blue represents the air force. School Principal Mr. D.P. Guleria remarked that NCC mainly aims to develops the character and personality of the youth and transforms them into responsible citizens and it is the duty of all the cadets to be true to the pledge they have administered.

To tap creativity among the tiny tots, of LKG BCM Kindergarten Chandigarh Road organized ‘Origami Competition’. 20 students enthusiastically took part in the competition. The participants exhibited their creativity & dexterity in skilfully folding & cutting the paper. They made beautiful pieces of art like ocean scene, masks, frocks, trousers etc. Winners were given certificates & participants were given books as souvenir by the Headmistress Ms Pragati Kapoor. Principal Mr D.P Guleria appreciated the efforts of the students.

Clay Modeling helps to develop eye hand co-ordination. It not only provides children a lot of fun and excitement but also helps in promoting their talent. Keeping the same in mind an inter section Clay Modeling Competition was organized for the students of UKG in the KG Section of BCM School Chandigarh Road Ludhiana. 20 students from different sections showed their skill in the art of clay modeling. There was a lot of gaiety & enthusiasm among the participants. Winners were given certificates and participants were given books as souvenir.

CLAY MODELING COMPETITION ||UKG ||
To refine the artistic skills of the students, Secondary wing of the school organized a chart making activity in the classrooms vigorous participants from classes lX and X showcased their talent by making vibrant and flashy charts on various festivals falling in the month of October.Best charts were chosen and displayed on the display boards of the respective classes.This activity gave a way to understand the rich heritage of India and learn about the significance of various festivals.

A video show on biography of Dr.APJ Abdul Kalam was organized for classes lX and X on in the classrooms. Through this show, students were made familiar with the hardships Mr. Kalam went through to achieve his goal of life. They were also acquainted with his achievements as a scientist and a human as well. This activity instilled in the students the values like hardwork, perseverance, tolerance and humility and also prompted them to stay determined to achieve success.

Students of BCM school exhibited their magnificent creativity by participating in best out of waste competition was held in the school. Exuberant Participants from classes lX and X tried their hand at creativity by utilizing waste material to create beautiful usable items. Judgement criteria for the same was based on presentation, practicability of the product, innovation and team work. participants lived up to the expectations of the judges. Overall, it was a successful event.

To inculcate the feelings of empathy and noble deeds,Secondary wing of the school organized an activity ‘What can I Gift,Click and Send’ for the students of classes IX & X. Students gifted various items like eatables,clothes,stationary etc.to the needy people of old age homes and slim areas.They also captured this noble act in their cameras and sent to the school activity coordinator .This activity sensitized the students for sharing and caring.

Storytelling is a unique human skill shared amongst people far and wide. It opens up the vivid imaginations that runs wild in children and it also builds confidence and enhances speaking skills. An Inspirational storytelling competition was organised for the students of class 6. The young vibrant storytellers came forth with wonderful tales. While some stories provided food for thought, some reinforced moral values and some were humorous. The stories were adjudged on the basis of content, expression, fluency and presentation skills of the children. Prisha bagged first position. Manmeet and Elina bagged second and third positions respectively.

To generate environment awareness among students, the green Olympiad – an environment examination was conducted for the students of classes IV and V under the category of level – 1. This test focuses on the most important stakeholders i.e the students to make them informed and responsible towards environment. The participants attempted MCQ based questions and marked the responses on OMR sheets.

Following the CBSE guidelines regarding POCSO Act ( Protection of Children Against Sexual Offences ), a PPT was prepared by counseling wing. The slides were based on CACA Safety Workbook series, that is specially designed to teach little students about Good touch/ Bad touch and safety rules to protect themselves from any type of sexual offence. On Oct 11,2019 the PPT was shown to students of Std.II and they were guided to be strong and keep themselves safe against sexual abuse.
BEING STRONG AND SECURE || PRIMARY WING ||
Kindness is a virtue which should be imbibed right from the very beginning as it makes the planet worth living. Keeping the same in mind BCM Kindergarten Chandigarh Road celebrated ‘World Kindness Day’. The lesson of kindness was taught to the little BCMites by narrating different stories and showing video clippings depicting this value. They were guided by the teachers to be kind to fellow human beings and animals. Principal Mr DP Guleria appreciated the efforts of teachers and opined that it is the need of the hour to inculcate these values among young kids.

Children’s day was celebrated with the lot of enthusiasm on Nov 14 in BCM Kindergarten Chandigarh Road. BCMites not only got international exposure but also got first-hand information from their peers in Nigeria. Expert Lecture on Political System in India & Nigeria || Secondary Wing ||
With an objective to highlight the importance of wild life in balancing the ecological system of the planet and need to save different species of animals Riya Jindal and Updesh Kaur of XI Non-Med delivered speeches in morning assembly in which they enhanced the knowledge of the students about the contribution of animals in our lives. They also highlighted the alarming data showing the threat that human beings have been inviting for themselves. In the end, they appealed to all to see to the gravity of the problem and contribute to save wild life.

To celebrate the birth anniversary of Iron Man of the country, Sardar vallabh Bhai Patel and to inculcate the feeling of patriotism ,Rashtriya Ekta Diwas was celebrated. A speech on the life and contribution of Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel was delivered in the morning assembly. The students took Rashtriya Ekta Pledge which motivated them to work and contribute for the welfare of the country.
RASHTRIYA EKTA DIWAS || SENIOR SECONDARY WING ||
The creative expression of art through the use of Rang (Color) is ‘Rangoli’ which is an intricate part of Indian culture and festivals. The same vibrant and colourful spirit reflected in an Inter School Rangoli Competition on Wednesday 23 October in M. Satyanand Munjal Activity Block of BCM School Chandigarh Road wherein 64 students from 8 schools comprising one Hub of Learning participated. The competition was conducted in two categories – for students of IX-X and XI-XII.
The contestants prepared outstanding Rangolis on themes ‘Light’ and ‘National Integration’. Colourful, decorative designs of Rangoli drawn on the floor left the viewers enchanted. It was a tough task for the judges to pick the winners as all the students performed quite well using colourful sand, flowers, rice flour, turmeric powder and other materials. Use of fragrant colors further intensified the ambience.
Springdale Public School emerged as the Overall Winner, grabbing First position in Cat. B and third position in Cat. A whereas BCM School Chandigarh and Ryan International School received First & Second Prizes respectively in Cat. A. Partap Public School and Akal Academy Dhindsa were proclaimed Second and Third position holders in Cat. B.
The Principal of Lead Collaborator School Mr. DP Guleria congratulated the winners and appreciated the efforts of the participants. He also commended CBSE initiative of bringing schools closer to one another by placing them in specific Hubs of Learning.
