A 7-day NSS Camp was inaugurated at BCM School, Chandigarh Road, Ludhiana, on December 24 in the august presence of the Chief Guest, Mr Davinder Singh Lotey, Assistant Director, Youth Services, Ludhiana. The camp will continue till December 30. The camp aims to instil the spirit of social service, discipline, and leadership among students.
The opening ceremony commenced with a traditional floral welcome, followed by the lighting of the ceremonial lamp. The NSS Song was presented by the volunteers, spreading the message of “Not Me, But You.”
This was followed by a briefing on the various activities and projects planned during the camp, including community service initiatives, awareness programmes, creative activities, sports, and personality development sessions.
Thereafter, the volunteers took the NSS Pledge, reaffirming their commitment to serve the nation with dedication and selflessness.
The gathering was addressed by the Principal, Mr D. P. Guleria, who motivated the students to participate wholeheartedly in all camp activities and emphasised the importance of youth involvement in nation-building. The Chief Guest, Mr Davinder Singh Lotey, in his inspiring address, appreciated the efforts of the school and encouraged the volunteers to work sincerely for the betterment of society.
The ceremony concluded with the formal declaration of the NSS Camp open, marking the beginning of seven days of meaningful service and learning.
The programme ended with a vote of thanks, expressing sincere gratitude to the Chief Guest, Principal Mr D. P. Guleria, teachers, NSS Programme Officers, staff members, and student volunteers for their valuable support and cooperation.
On the first day, NSS volunteers participated in a Plantation Drive at the Government. School Mundian promoting environmental awareness and social responsibility.
